  1. It was at 01:30 a few weekends ago
  2. Damn it!! A schoolboy error on my part. I tried a few other ticket sites but they weren't selling for this gig so I assumed Ticketmaster had exclusive rights. Anyhoo, lesson learned
  3. I go to alot of gigs every year so it's nothing new to me (hurts to think how much I've paid in additional fees though). I don't think I have experienced that level of hidden costs though and especially no cheaper option for delivery. They are basically saying, you've paid the fee plus the service charge, but you're not getting the tickets unless you fork out a fiver more!
  4. I went online today to buy a pair of concert tickets (Spiritualized for those who may wish to know) on a site that I will refer to as Thief-master. The tickets cost ?19.50 each - fair enough for an awesome live act in a great venue. Then they decided to charge me ?3.75 per ticket for "Service Charge". And then, the b*stards insisted I pay another ?4.95 for guaranteed delivery!! Surely paying the above cash is enough to warrant a guarantee of the product you purchased. The minimum I could have spent for delivery was ?3.00 to collect the tickets at the box office but gig-goers will agree that this is a burden, especially if you need to pass the tickets to a friend etc. So a gig that could have cost ?39.00 is actually costing me ?51.45 Yanks my chain so it does!
  5. Such a pity, sorry to hear Kat. I hope that you guys get some good news soon. On a recent stroll I was very surprised by the number of vacant shopfronts along LL. And soon to include Tulip Cafe and Inside 72. Seems like a waste of good space (and ideas, as we have seen above).
  6. Kudos on the threads so far - the fact that such a topic on this wonderful forum exists says it all about ED really. Apart from those already listed, I love the fact that friends/family who come to visit are blown away by the place. Makes me proud to live here. Also, Clarence in the Bishop always brings a smile to my face. And I have to second the earlier point about the friendly staff there.
  7. I saw one dumped outside a house the other day with the lights still draped around - either a forgetful owner or a sad sign of our times!
  8. Does anybody know the correct way to dispose of old Christmas trees in the area? Are there borough-provided services?
  9. Morning all, I was walking back from the Post Office sorting office (near Peckham Rye) earlier today and found a set of keys in the middle of the road. I was on the quiet stretch of Bellenden Road, next to that small public garden. The set contained a blue plastic tag and about 4 keys (of various shapes and sizes). Seeing as they were lying in the middle of a road (near a speed bump) I'm guessing they may belong to a cyclist. Not everyone will agree with me on this, but I picked them up and put them on a garden wall nearby, hoping the owner will re-trace their steps. There were no open shops/businesses nearby to hand them into and I couldn't take them with me as I'm about to head away for a few days. Anyhoo, just in case the owner reads the EDF (and presuming nobody else has taken them), the keys are where I left them. KJ
