I parked in a disabled bay on east dulwich rd today. ( with a blue badge displayed .. to get my disabled mum into the house .. because no regular space on the rd was free ). We then went back to the car to find that a threatening letter had been left on the windscreen from someone saying THEY had applied for the space , it was THEIRS, my car " better not be there tonight you stupid person " etc etc Now .. the bay simply says disabled badge owners only .. which we are.. I'm genuinely confused as to whether I'm in the wrong or not. Also they never left a name or contact number so I cant even speak to them. I now have an upset mother terrified to use a disabled bay .. when she's disabled! ). Can anyone help shed light on this?

Anyone know where Charles from Balayage opp the plough moved to? They wont tell me ( or don't know I guess )

And me! Maurice just moved some pipes, fitted a rad and fixed a long running ticking sound that has baffled 2 plumbers before him. Excellent work and a lovely guy.

Can anyone suggest a good view point that I could take parents to? Baring in mind they're not in the best of health so travelling too far, traipsing up too steep a hill not great. Dawsons heights park? I'm assuming horniman park will be closed? Any suggestions welcome please..

Help needed please. I need to find a reliable caring taxi service/driver who I could book to ferry my mum around when I'm not here. However because she suffers from poor health and is sometimes a little unstable I need one who is patient and a calm driver and will perhaps open the car door for her and wait till she is through her front door etc. Any recommendations?

After 11 years my brilliant lovely cleaner has retired so I'm looking to replace her. Need someone ideally to do once a fortnight - 3 hours on my 2 bed flat then an hour for my downstairs neighbours studio flat. Any recommendations?

Mum's pretty anti meds and wants to do as much as she is able .. thinking thats the best medicine! she's very excited to get here ( in june hopefully ) so we shall be giving everything a go. But you're right .. also nice just to have good companionship. Not easy to make new friends at 60 but I reckon if you can do it anywhere, East Dul is a good place to start! ( fingers crossed )

I placed this in another section but thought it worth putting it on here too. My mum is making the big move here from up north and I'm keen to make life as fun as possible for her. She is only 60 but has some health issues so the usual suggestions for activities often aren't possible. I'm looking firstly for a GP good at dealing with emphysema .. hopefully one that will prescribe more holistically ( stress management, supervised exercise etc ) rather than pump her full of drugs that make her feel awful. And secondly for social activities. Edanna told me about a singing group for people with COPD which is brilliant. i suppose I'm looking for friendly non judgemental environments .. she loves a bit of live music too so I was wondering if The Goose is Out might be good. Any suggestions would be so appreciated.

Hiya. Need a exterior steps wall structurally strengthened ( there are big cracks, broken bricks etc ) and then rendered. There are lots of recommendations on here for plasterers but struggling to find someone to do the structurally repair first ..
