  1. I started a blog for far off family and friends when I was pregnant and have kept it going since (when I have time!), not nearly as professional as some of the others tho! Go back through the archive if you're after pregnancy and newborn (August 09) bits. www.southwarkbelle.blogspot.com K
  2. Also, just to add - did the doctor do a swab to check what was causing the infection? They are usually bacterial, but can also be fungal and it's best to know the exact cause so they can pick the best treatment. Also where in the ear is it? If it's in the outer part drops or a spray are generally better than oral antibiotics (at least in adults I don't know for sure about kids). Unfortunatly I have lots of experience of ear infections! 3. I'm afriad your Mum was right Lochie, the little one will be feeling much better as most of the bugs wil have been killed off quickly by the antibiotics, however the strongest of them can hang on for a long time and if you stop treatment early you'll just have cleared away all the weak ones to make room for the stronger ones to grow. If you finish the course hopefully they'll all be killed off. As Fuscia says, these stronger bugs can become immune to the antibiotics if lots of people don't finish them off properly. Good luck with administering it and with starting back at work. K
  4. Ah that's great thanks! I might try out the Albrighton Centre if Naps permit. We've been to the one o'clock club a few times it's really good but I think we're at an awkward in-betweeny stage at the moment as she's not entertained by the baby mat area for very long but can't manage the big stuff outside yet. K
  5. Thanks Apenn, it was seeing your thread that made me decide to get organised and find out what was on - very helpful as I've only recently moved to the area and haven't found much yet. I only have Mondays and Tuesday now and it seems that there is lots all on at the same time on Monday morning and almost nothing in the afternoon. K
  6. Hi, Can anyone suggest anything to keep a 1 year old (not walking yet) entertained on Monday afternoons? There doesn't seem to be much going on then and it'd be my best opportunity for doing something. Thanks, K
  7. I hadn't planned to get one but tried one out while very pregnant and it was heaven! Only comfy thing to sit in, was great for feeding too. Now it lives in DDs room (she's 1) and is a nice place for reading bedtime stories.
  8. Thanks Molly, I'm in Nunhead too, had been planning to head over there to find out about activities yesterday morning - then the heavens opened and it didn't seem so appealing! K
  9. Molly - When is the Ivydale playgroup and can you just turn up? I think it's time to start finding indoor activities! Thanks, K
  10. Oh I must try that out, thanks for sharing. Is there parking there? Or can it be done on public transport? (Sorry new to the area and don't know my way around yet). K
  11. Hello everyone, I've recently moved to Nunhead, very near the park so would be lovely to meet some other local Mums. I have a 13 month old but not planning number 2 for a while so I'm not really what the original poster was looking for but if there are any tea groups going I'd love to come along, didn't do that when my daughter was new as there didn't seem to be any where we were living. Thanks and best wishes for all the bumps!
