  1. I have children so spare time is not really a thing. Sometimes get the opportunity to drink though. Don?t know if this counts as a hobby?
  2. My cat has no loyalty whatsoever and is only affectionate when she wants food. She has us wrapped around her finger. Got to admire her brazenness though.
  3. There is such an obvious difference between referring to 'gammon' (basically 'people who are a bit reactionary') and insulting a small, often vilified minority. Both are rude, but only one can seriously be said to amount to something more dangerous and irresponsible. Women wearing the 'burka' are often the target of street abuse and the kind of language used by Alexander de Pfeffel Johnson echos the language of street abuse quite intentionally. It also has to be seen in the context of his previous 'gaffes' where he has said things which belie an unsavoury attitude to people in less powerful positions to himself. For example referring to black people as "piccaninnies" with "watermelon smiles", gay people as "bumboys" and saying that if equal marriage was acceptable why not "three men and a dog". There are others. The problem is the power differential between a politician and national newspaper columnist and the minority groups he likes to publicly mock and bully.
  4. I think it's unlikely that people are being abused in the street for being white, middle aged men.

It's up to Sainsbury's if they want to designate a small number of spaces for a specific use. It's not up to individuals to judge whether or not they 'need' to take a bigger space. I might decide I need more space because I fancy it, but it's not really up to me is it? There are spaces for people who are genuinely disabled. Also, as those who want to decry parent / child spaces are keen to point out - it's not that hard to walk an addition 5 metres for the able bodied, without little humans to drag along with them. Frankly the decision to make life easier for parents may simply be a commercial one by Sainsbury's, rather than one strictly of need. It's up to them. People need to be a lot less entitled imo.
  6. It Looks OK to me. It's no higher than the neighbouring building, the higher part is set back to the line of the neighbouring building too. It's pretty uninspiring, but there are worse developments around.
  7. Oddono?s salted caramel is my favourite
  8. It's all about sock suspenders...
  9. How did it get permission for change of use? Greedy landlords are going to slowly kill ED.

But they are reserved for people with children. it's a weird argument - people with kids don't need these spaces (even though they are set aside specifically for their use), but someone without kids does. What? Surely it's Sainsbury's decision who parks where in their car park. Can I come and park in your drive, because why do you need it? You can park across the road and walk to your front door. If you think I'm being unreasonable, you clearly need to get a grip. I have ultimate say over where I park, not the landowner.

  18. It would be nice if Boris bikes could come to SE London. They cover almost all of Zones 1, 2 and in some cases zone 3, except for SE. Like the tube, cycle superhighways etc. Its' crzy i know, but perhaps we could get some public transport in line with the rest of the Capital.
  19. there is a another playground over the other side of the park which is more appropriate for younger children though.
  20. I can't believe people are suggesting these spaces should be moved further away from the entrance. Why? So that you can be nearer the entrance? Because your need is greater? If it's so easy to walk across a car park with young kids, then you should be able to do it without them.
  21. The moon was red last night. Was that related to the blood moon, or something else?
  22. It is the height of laziness and selfishness to park in a space that is clearly not meant for you, just to be a little nearer the entrance. I mean ffs - how entitled do you have to feel to think the rules shouldn't apply to you.
  23. everywhere is hot at the moment. Far too hot for my liking.
  24. Everybody now...strong and stable, strong and stable.
