  1. Fundamentally, I am willing to bet with 100% certainty that I could walk down Lordship Lane right now and purchase some sliced white bread. I cannot believe there is anything so exceptional about the Co-op brand of mass produced, heavily processed sliced white that makes it necessary to get upset at having to fall back on a substitute. I would also bet however, with fairly high certainty, that at most times I would find the co-op fully stocked with their own brand sliced white.
  2. We don't really know anything. Frankly, the Co-op staff my be making assumptions about the breads end destination. I've gone in and bought a load of bread before when I'm having a kids party and making lot's of sandwiches for example. The Co-op is there to sell food, they aren't there to question it's use. Assuming for a minute however, that a cafe is buying co-op bread -Either it is using the shop as it's main supplier of bread (in which case, co-op ought to be able to predict the demand), or they're using it in instances where they've unexpectedly run out (which seems perfectly reasonable to me). Either way, I can't see how co-op is meant to police bread usage,or deny service. There are lot's of other shops on the Lane where you can get generic sliced white bread.
  3. I think they should only sell by the slice, ten slice limit.
  4. I just thought of 'really maria', they might be able to help. Otherwise the framing shop is probably a good shout. Thanks
  5. Hi anyone know where I can buy some fishing line locally? It's not for fishing, for a wall hanging. Looking for the transparent stuff. Thanks
  6. Where is a cafe meant to buy their bread? Co-op just need to manage their stock. Plenty of 'ordinary people' stop off for breakfast at the local cafe.
  7. Farage implying that Jo Cox's widow has links to extremism today. What an odious little tw*t.
  8. TFL should be handed the Southern franchise. Chris Grayling's decision to put political spitefulness over commuters well being is disgraceful.
  9. ...forget that, just seen the date of this thread. So surly stationary guy went out of business?
  10. Bit off topic, but does anyone know where I can buy stationary on Lordship Lane? Thanks

  12. So what are the boundaries of West Dulwich? I can only find East Dulwich and Dulwich Village on Google maps.
  13. When you say 'West Dulwich', what area does that encompass? Is Dulwich Village included, or is it considered a separate district? Does 'North Dulwich' exist as a distinct area outside of it being the name of a train station?

Seeing as we pay taxes (in part) to provide public transport, there should also be reasonable alternatives to private transport on offer which are quicker than just walking.
  15. It's great when places are unfriendly.
  16. A satsuma, some chocolate coins and a foam airplane.
  17. I can imagine they're not great if you just want to buy a coffee
  18. I don't think I've ever had a fifty pound note.
  19. My problem is that I live opposite a school. Peeps drop their kids off in a rush. So they reverse in at speed, hit the car behind them, pull forward, hit the car in front, kick the kids out and drive off. Then another swoops in and does exactly the same thing. I've had to replace my number plate a number of times and now the badge is broken. Just people not giving a monkeys. So annoying.
  20. Daily people are just reversing into my car. I'm so fed up with it. This time they've damaged the badge on the front. Seriously, If you can't park without using the car behind as a buffer, give up driving.
  21. I'm sorry, but this is getting feckin' ridiculous. An hour and a half to travel around 4 miles on the bus. No tube, trains don't run. This is a wealthy city. Never mind painting lines round corners. How about a way of getting about that's quicker than walking? *rant ends*
  22. Seriously, at a time of financial constraints on local authorities, you have to wonder how stuff like this is still happening. It's absolutely crazy.
  23. Peeps on the forum make a big deal about kids 'spoiling it for everyone'. But I have to say that it's not my experience of going out in ED.
