  1. Why have so many independents shut? That's rather depressing. Is the Peckham renaissance over? Have to say, I don't mind the coffee in Costa - but hate the identikit chain decor.
  2. Thanks for the advice. It's always been pretty straight forward with other boilers I've owned, but this one has loads of different taps and pipes. I googled the manual and under the section on adjusting the pressure, it just says 'consult your installer'. I'll get it running and check which pipe is cold.
  3. So the water pressure on my boiler is a bit low. But there are at least six different taps underneath it. How do I work out which one to use in order to 'top it up'? Should I just try each one in turn or is that going to cause problems.
  4. I e found it particularly galling to see how quickly politicians have fallen in behind Trump (especially those on the right). Often politicians that generally I respect, or would have expected to speak out more. This article puts it well https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/feb/05/donald-trump-lies-belief-totalitarianism?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  5. It is easy, with so much craziness, to almost become immune to it. Just a reminder of the last week of Trump TrumpWatch: The Week's 5 Flashpoints From President Trump http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/trump-watch_uk_58945e8de4b0505b1f588d30 this guy is dangerous.

For me both those routes are pretty slow, as they involve a walk and then often a long wait.
  8. ... OK, having googled it, the story has a kernel of truth: http://www.london-se1.co.uk/news/view/5543

Ha! Apparently a proposed branch of Nando's on Stamford Street, applied to Southwark for planning permission a few years back. Southwark's planning commitee granted permission with neither party realising that the site was actually located in Lambeth. When the error was discovered Nando's had to reapply, this time in the correct borough.* *there's a good chance this is apocryphal
  10. Considering the regular buses which ply Lordship Lane, it's relatively difficult to travel to some major nearby 'towns'. Brixton and Crystal Palace being the two obvious ones.
  11. ... she deserves credit for her vote imo.
  12. That's true James, but it would have been easier to tow the party line. also, I'm sure she'll see get a lot of grief from the more distasteful elements on the leave side. Farage is already saying that MPs voting against the bill are enemies of democracy.
  13. .. in case anyone was unclear about whether he was or not.
  14. There's hardly a dearth of coffee shops in Pecknarm
  15. I would ask 'what would make them happy exactly', but I think that could take us to some dark places.
  16. Trump is such a bellend
  17. "MPs who don't support the outcome of a referendum are enemies of democracy" claim MPs who spent 40 years campaigning to leave the EU following the referendum in '75.
  18. Has anyone noticed how the Brexiters are still really angry despite the referendum going their way?
  19. Jules-and-Boo Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > oh Cat - such a Forum faux-pas! > > Criticising those who criticise the democracy they > claim to defend. Yeah, democracy means keeping quite, not expressing your opinions and never, ever campaigning for change (oh hold on, that's autocracy)

  21. What!? No money? What about the 'Brexit Bonus'? What happened?

  23. I'm just looking forward to this huge 'Brexit bonus' we were promised by Farage and co. Can't wait to see all that extra money pouring into the economy - anyone know the date when it's due to arrive?
