I think it's lovely that everyone is feeling so gay today.

I joined up as soon as possible, as there was no way I wasn't going to end up being a member when it's 5 minutes from my front door and it was never going to be any cheaper. I can see how some of more silly 'statusy' stuff around getting your name on the wall etc could be considered a bit cringey, but that aside, it was a no brainer to take the 'early bird deal'. Anyway, it's a great cinema, loads of leg room, which as a lanky fooker, is great for me.

A quick Google search gives the following definition... "The avoidance of forms of expression or action that are perceived to exclude, marginalize, or insult groups of people who are socially disadvantaged or discriminated against". Which could probably be simplified to "not being a bully". Sounds OK.

I would say 'political correctness' is a very positive thing. Of course it depends on what you mean by the term though. For a lot of the 'PC gone mad' brigade, it seems to have been confused with extreme(largely imagined) Health and Safety restrictions.

The fortunes of even the best/worst school can turn around massively over 5 years.

I don't watch the soaps, what do you mean by 'gay story lines'? Do you mean that there are too many gay characters.... Are you worried about realism? What's the watershed got to do with it?

What about the moral argument?

It is great to have a local cinema. Really chuffed.

I used to run Bellenden Road, up the surrey canal path through Bermondsey Spa to the river at Shad Thames, over Tower Bridge, St Catherine's docks and onto the Regents Canal. You could follow the canal path as long as you like, up to Regents park, or loop back at Victoria Park.

The point is that Peckham is going to change, is already changing, along with all of inner London. I think the results will be better if there are concerned citizens (even if they're not entirely representative of all the community) trying to steer the changes, than if it's just left entirely to commercial developers. At least with Peckham Vision there is an organisation that is trying to influence the changes and (as best they can), to reflect and balance some of the interests of local people.

I never thought Louisa was aggressive as such. I did think that the posts were pretty tedious and repetitive though. That said, I'm sorry she felt the need to leave the forum.

Areas change.. Brixton was once a pretty upmarket neighbourhood, then it wasn't, now it's kind of mixed and becoming more affluent. I don't like the idea of protesting about people moving into your neighbourhood, because they're different to you.

Its' a shame, after the 12 route's 'bendy blight' was ended, this route has been good. Now another experimental, flawed bus design has been dropped on it.

Looking at it this morning, I can't help wondering whether the builders have cut corners a bit with the finish - bolts not screwed down properly, the paving leading up to the door looks like it's going to gather water. A 4 month overrun... I don't know who the contractors are, but I hope Picturehouse have got some snag fixing and overrun clauses agreed with them.

They were working late on it when I walked past this evening.
