True, but the Tories had said that they would match Labour's spending plans - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/6975536.stm
  2. I'm totally with you Lee. It's not much to expect people to clear up after themselves.
  3. Also, bear in mind that whilst the Tories claim that Labour would be a disaster for the economy, they're the ones selling off state assets at knock down prices, offering uncosted tax breaks and looking to lead us out of Europe.

Exactly. It amazes me how many have bought the Tory line that the recession was caused by 'Labour spending too much'. even though the Tories said they would match Labour's spending pledges. The real issue was lax banking regulation, but again, the Tories were calling for less 'red tape' and less regulation in opposition, not more. There is also a good argument that by talking down the economy relentlessly when they were elected, the Tories actually did a lot to halt what was at the time a recovering economy.
  5. Not very convincing.
  6. See police have used CS gas on some of the protesters. Apparently Foxtons had its window smashed.

To be fair, this did make me laugh.
  9. anyway, has Admin said how long your off the main forum for?
  10. Louisa- the thing is, the repetition of the same 'blow ins' thing over and over ad nauseum, doesn't (in my opinion) make the forum more interesting. It's not particularly funny or challenging. I'm all for people debating, arguing, outraging even, but not just endlessly repeating the same schtick. BTW- I have never (as I think I've said) found your posts offensive and I do quite find the references to sunbathing and being on the sauce all quite funny.

That would be true if Louisawas funny
  12. You've made me laugh Bob thank you.
  13. http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2015/apr/23/london-transport-chief-tfl-sir-peter-hendy-capital-trains-shit Transport for London chief: commuter trains into capital are 'shit'
  14. Personally, I'd like an M&S Food hall where Iceland currently is and a Waitrose where Co-op is.
  15. Someone's rude comments aren't mitigated by being 'just trolling'. If the intention is to deliberately wind others up (as opposed to causing inadvertent offense), surely that's even worse.... and quite sad.
  16. To be fair, Louisa does a pretty good line in sneering (not that this justifies it from anyone else)
  17. Murdoch is a such lovely old man.
  18. Nah, I'm bored of it already...moved on.
  19. Tarot, if you don't mind me saying, you seem very angry and frustrated. Perhaps you could do with some man love.
  20. .... made worse by the fact that there is acute need for investment in 'real' transport infrastructure, not least in SE London.
  21. It was funded from the rail services budget, despite the fact that many argued that it was actually a tourist attraction and not a viable piece of transport infrastructure. Current figures bear out this claim - indicating that there are zero regular commuters using the 'dangleway' (and actually very few tourists). This sums it up: http://853blog.com/2014/12/16/emirates-air-line-cable-car-now-has-no-regular-commuters/ Boris is doing the same with the Garden Bridge - funding another vanity project by raiding the transport budget. It's pretty out of order in my view, but he seems to be able to do these things with impunity.
  22. The whole 'Boris' bus thing is a total folly. They have cost a fortune and their 'USP' - the 'hop on, hop off' back door is closed nearly all of the time. In almost every other respect they perform less favorably to the standard double decker. Boris just can't help raiding the transport budget to fund his little vanity projects (e.g. the Emirates 'Dangleway' the Garden Bridge etc.). I really wish he would be held to account.
  23. oooh, nice pic.
  24. Dulwich Park has suffered from the Thames Water works in my opinion. Many of the views are now interrupted by the new undulations. Peckham Rye is great. Definitely my favourite.
