  1. Isn't Dulwich Village just like Montecarlo but without the swimwear?
  2. Hurrah. All is well in the world afterall!
  3. Yes how dull. I try to avoid anything to do with the kitchen. Where can I buy a ?300 pair of shoes? Just think of the time I will save! The train to Victoria, and one tube stop to Sloane Square can be such a drag from West Dulwich! Now that really would be progress..............;-)
  4. A shoe shop? Hurrah! What's that Mr Snorky? A lovely ?300 a pair shoe shop? Oh the joy!
  5. Dear Mr Bob s, You are a darling!
  6. I love my ever suffering Welsh husband, but the best thing to come out of Wales (as far as I am concerned) is the M4. Yes Snowdonia is lovely - send us a postcard, I'm off to Cornwall, where they say hello, and goodbye, serve you with a smile, buy a pint when it is their turn, and don't speak Welsh!
  7. My Dear Bob, I am confused by the profusion of Bobs about the forum (registered and unregistered). It is very easy to confuse me at the best of times, and I apologise for that - I have small children and don't get much sleep. I am easily confused anyhow - as I am not very clever to begin with. Hey ho. I am sorry if I chastised the wrong Bob, it is just that I hate to think of people having carnal knowledge of sheep. It is just not natural if you ask me, and the less said about it, the better. Whichever Bob was talking about Welsh men and their zippers - should put himself on the stool of repentance. There is never any requirement for rudeness!
  8. Please, help me out here, I must have missed something, what pray is 'cottagedchicken?'
  9. Well said, Red_cat.
  10. Dear Mr Ibo, It is actually Quaywe and Bob that concern me.
  11. Dear Mr Quaywe, Pray what are you implying? The abuse of animals is aborrant in all forms - even if you do find them particularly attractive, and they do seem to be giving you the come-on. Are you from New Zealand by any chance young man? I shall have my mother pray for your soul. Bob, hang your head in shame young man or you will find yourself on the naughty step - again.
  12. I had a delightful female Canadian flat mate once, who swore that all Canadian men wore enormous white Y-front underpants. Is this true?
  13. Take my advice Mr Ivemet-jimmy, Never EVER go to Wales. Foreign travel is so over-rated.
  14. Thanks for that Mikewbate, I remember having a good 'revel' in East Dulwich - in the mid 80's! Do you remember the cricket ground on Dog Kennel Hill? 'Doggers' it was called - I wonder if Batdog remembers it too? Although he was no doubt just a pup. Thank God they had no alcopops then or I would have been admitted to The Priory years ago. There is nothing for anyone to lock horns over, we have running water, public transport, a national health service (of sorts) and none of us are starving - although I didn't have a lot for lunch. Yes Dulwich is evolving constantly - at a pace. I have lived here for more than half of my life and I like to think of it as progress. I love Dulwich, I am sure you do too. That is the point. Aren't we lucky to be here? My God, have you ever been to Wales???????????????????
  15. Dear Mikewbate, Pray what is a 'Tankie'? Would it be anything to do with enormous four wheel drive vehicles?
  16. Dear Bob, You are a darling. I do love a nice scatter cushion. Uncombed mongolian yak hair sounds just the ticket! I have just returned from my Sunday morning ritual tramp in Dulwich Park. Far too many Al Paca hand knit Peruvian hats about the place if you ask me. But the type of cushion you describe sounds virtually organic - 'home spun and organic' is such a good look but not for clothing - clearly! I shall purchase a bakers dozen (cushions not hats);-).
  17. Is that Mr Crystalclear I see in the brown T shirt? I thought he would be getting an early night because he had a date this afternoon. Shame. Gosh you are a bunch of handsome devils!
  18. Dear Keef, Where do you suggest I buy some cushions then?
  19. You poor things. I can't even imagine how dreadful it would be if we lost Miss Mouse, or Polo Bear. Please let us know if you find him. I hope you and your baby get some sleep tonight. Best wishes,
  20. The Crown and Greyhound in the Village - perfect.
  21. Yes it's great.
  22. You lot are a scream.
  23. Dear Clairey-Lou, I just wrote this enormous roller coaster of a reply to a similar question on the 'Wanted' section, so I am sorry if I appear to be repeating myself. The Townley Road mother and baby group is run by health visitors with sessions promoting health - but with the intention is to introduce mothers to eachother with no pressure. I found just going into Starbucks in Sainsburys, Costa Coffee or Blue Mountain - that I always met other lovely friendly mums. There is a mother and baby group on Monday mornings (I think) at the hall around the back of St Thomas Moore Church around 10am (I think). It can get rather crowded. A great mother and baby group is 'Moonbeams' on Half Moon Lane (Wednesday mornings?), and it is just the best fun, I found it great for babys. They do all sorts for the children, and provide nice tea and biscuits. All the mums are more than friendly, but you will need to call in to organise a taster session, and put your name down on a waiting list. St Barnabus Church has a mother and baby group (could be Tuesday and Thursday mornings) starting tenish I think. Again tea and biscuits, lots for the babies to do. Everyone is very friendly. The baby clinic at your GP surgery is also a great way to meet new local mums, and your health visitor should be able to introduce you to mums walking distance from your home. The NCT tea groups (you can get their contact details on line) were the best social outlet though I think. There is a great music group for babies called Whipper Snappers and Brockwell Lido to check out, and also Monkey Music classes - all are great for making friends. They also do a great story time session at the Library at Dulwich Plough, you will notice the same faces turning up at every single venue. You will build up the best group of lovely sociable parents. Dulwich is truly the best place to be a mum! I know. Best wishes,
