  3. There was also a programme on recently regrding the last day of WW1. It highlighted the refusal by some generals to stand their troops down and sent them into action despite the fact that they knew the armistice had been signed. Senseless. It was very moving to watch, especially when the futility of it all hit you.

  7. Good god, and all this in the name of sport. Rivalry and banter between fans is one thing but for goodness sake.
  8. Home is where the heart is - Bobby Womack
  9. Juande Ramos is the embodiment of the saying "be careful what you wish for".

  12. To be fair, Necastle are not the only club that treats managers in a shoddy fahsion. Look what Tottenham did to Martin Jol, the best manager they'd had for a long while, scandalous. And we all remember who came in to replace him don't we.
  13. til the end of the day - Kinks
  14. Poor display by Arsenal, although I'm not sure we deserved to lose, a draw would have been a fair result. Well done Liverpool. How guuted is Mick McCarthy?? Wolves were excellent but nothing for their endeavours. Will this be the most open title chase for many years?
  15. Another Saturday night - Sam Cooke
  16. I see spurs have gone from being world beaters to mediocre in days. Did the nodding twitching churchill dog bemoan his luck or did he say the mighty Bolton were the better side?

Incorrect, substitue The Arsenal for Shite Hart Lane. And the word bastards for inbreds.
  20. My god I thought this was a football forum, what is going on? Anyway, thought Stevie G was immense last night. Apart from Torres and Reina, it must be soul destroying for him to be playing week in week out with players so inferior to him. WEll done done Stevie, time for move maybe?
  21. I think all clubs have had issues with refs in the past and present, all clubs feel they are victims of bed refereeing, and no club is unique in that respect. The problem is UNLESS you support that particular club you will have little or no interest in their complaints.
  22. Teasing people on here only ends in tears.

  24. I had a distinct feeling of de ja vu reading Sneijders remarks about how superior Serie A is to the Prem and how the Italians are far more technically gifted than the players in the Prem. He should have remembered the ill advised comments made by Materazzi before Inter played Arsenal a few years back, when he said Arsenal weren't up to the rigours of the Champs leage, this was immediately before we dismantled them at their place 5-1. Silly boy. They are not same side the Mourhino managed and it shows. Well done to spurs, hard cheese Rangers but they were outclassed/played. But it seems Walter Smiths ambition in Europe is extremely limited.
  25. Jack Wilshere signs new deal with the Arsenal, very pleased with that.
