Yet another recommendation for Niko. He is a highly skilled plumber. He's also friendly, clean, helpful and efficient. He works non-stop so seems to always manage to find time to get things done. He has done lots for us in the past, but last week he came out at short notice to fix a broken tap and he dealt with a leak under the bath by fitting nice new mixer taps. The cost was more than reasonable and he's a pleasure to have in the house (and the kids love him). Thanks Niko!

I would like to wholeheartedly recommend Nicola Hall, from Hall and Co Solicitors, based at the top end of Lordship Lane. (020 7183 5651). We instructed Nicola to deal with our recent house purchase and sale of our flat, and she has been fantastic to work with throughout the process. From the outset, Nicola provided the most prompt, clear, thorough quote, with no hidden costs. She is diligent, fair, calm in a crisis, easy to get hold of, and she helped make a complicated process much less stressful. Also, there is a lot to be said for using a local solicitor's office, both for face to face contact, and for hand delivering important paperwork. We don't intend to move again for a long time, but we would be more than happy to use her services again in the future.

Adding to this recommendation for Steve and Nicola at back to wood. They are absolutely brilliant at their job, and are a pleasure to have in the house. They fitted us in at short notice to sand down our ancient, battered floor boards in our kids' bedrooms. They were really helpful with choosing finishes and the transformation is amazing. They are very considerate and left everything clean and tidy. They are coming back soon to sand the rest of the floors. Give them a call, you won't regret it!!

Call the Spin doctor every time. He fixed our broken washing machine with no fuss- he had the right part in the van so all sorted very quickly. He knows what he's doing. He won't rip you off. Hooraay!

Second time we've had Niko out and I can't recommend him enough. I texted him this morning and he came as soon as we got back from work today. Hello forum people. This is a well-overdue recommendation for Blenheim Motors just under the arches on Blenheim Grove. Tel: 02076390785. It's an SE15 postcode, but is so close to SE22. I have been using them for all my car repairs, MOTs and services for many years now. Ian and Ainslie are decent, hard working blokes, who know what they're doing and are brilliant at explaining what is going on. They are fair with prices and are a very safe pair of hands. They have a lot of competition from new garages along the arches, who have undercut them slightly and I'm sure they could do with new customers. Tell them Rachael told you about them on the forum and they'll look after you!

I found Santos' number on the forum this morning. I spoke to him this afternoon to get a quote to clear 10 bags of rubble which have been sitting round the back of my house for ages. He said he could come in a couple of hours. He turned up when he said he would, charged a very reasonable ?65 to lug all the heavy bags round to his van, and was very kind and helpful. I would highly recommend Santos to anyone needing a friendly, efficient local rubbish clearance service. Thanks Santos!
