Hi everyone Due to a change in circumstances I have just moved out of London, and more precisely: East Dulwich. I thought I'd write a few words... I moved to the area 6 years ago. I had a box room in a house on Bellenden Road and saw it change massively. I then moved to Copleston Road and then onto Champion Grove. Throughout this time I have always considered ED and lordship lane our home. I thoroughly enjoyed living in the area and it has so much going for it and hope to make a visit from time to time Things I loved: William Rose butchers Playing 7 a side football at Dulwich Hamlet Review bookshop Blue mountain cafe VietVan on NCR Franklins Blackbird bakery Running around Ruskin park and to North Dulwich and back Dulwich park and the picture gallery 10 mins to London Bridge on train The East Dulwich Forum - especially the thread about mysterious bottles of orange liquid! Fireworks at Brockwell Park (before it got busy!)

Hi all I pass through E&C train station on Sunday mornings and as you walk from the station to the shopping centre there is a buzz of voices from a nightclub (?) at 10am in the morning. Just intrigued what the club is? Are revellers pulling an all nighter and all morning-er?

Hello I was walking home from sainsburys on Monday evening at about 8pm and exit via the small pedestrian walkway which leads on to dog kennel hill. Before I got there a staff member said the exit was closed due to and accident and from what I could see the trolley shelter had been crashed into and the roof was hanging down. There was no sign of a car which had crashed into it. Not sure if it is related but there were two very flashy cars nearby (a Bentley and a white sports car) but neither had dents or scratches on them. This entrance/exit is still closed. Anyone know what happened?

Venice, definitely. We flew from London city airport which was ace. Venice is scalable and no doubt you'll get lost at some point but that's part of the fun. We went last year in March and the weather was decent and the city was quiet too. Maybe check it has recovered from the flooding!

What restaurant to try for my birthday?
youandiaredominoes replied to youandiaredominoes's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Ganapati is great - used to live basically next door to it! Well, in the end we went to a The Patch and had a superb meal. Had a drink in the bar area which is nice but it really steps up to the next level in the dining area. We had potted mackerel to share for a starter, then I had honey glazed duck, with lentils and cranberry. My partner had braised beef cheek and some fancy veg. Then cheese platter for desert! I thought the quality of the food was top class and the service was really good. It's about ?17 for a main but the quality was excellent and the portions were perfect size. Highly recommend it! Thanks for all your suggestions! -

Thanks kittenheels, Bellendenbelle, bob, Pickle and TillieTrotter - some great suggestions Peckham Bazaar looks like it could be fun. If the weather isn't too bad, I think I'll go there! -

Peckham Bazaar looks good - might take a punt on that. I've been to Begging Bowl when it first opened -was good. Also wondered about ToastED since the refurb - also further to trek. -
My partner and I are going out for a birthday meal this weekend and we would like to try somewhere new in ED. We really like Franklins and have had good meals at Le Chardon, Thai Cafe, Il Mitro but would like to know if there is anywhere else we should check out? We like pretty much any cuisine!

Another thumbs up for Niko - he was brilliant. Was able to come round at a time that suited me and fixed some longstanding problems swiftly. He is a lovely bloke, who knows what he is doing. Definitely recommend him!

Local homeless charities?
youandiaredominoes replied to youandiaredominoes's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Thanks EDAus and ratty - very helpful. I had a feeling they existed - maybe we should have a section on the forum where we list local charities or let them advertise? Not sure what the rules are but would be great to give them more exposure -
Hi there Does anyone know of any homeless charities or initiatives in the local area. We would like to donate some clothes, food and money to people who need it. Thanks

Tiny Little Things That Cause You Irrational Rage
youandiaredominoes replied to PinkyB's topic in The Lounge
Ok, ok I see it could be a safety issue about standing up early but I suppose I am just bitter because I am always the chump standing up! Another annoying this is: people who walk and read at the same time. Either walk OR read. Not both. -

Thanks for the update -
I mainly use Google Drive - so as long as I can view the photos I take on my android phone through an app on the ipad, that would be swell

Dropbox is a good option - not as seamless as the apple to apple system but I've seen it work. Anyone got experience using this?

Hi there I am looking to replace my iphone with a android phone but I also have an ipad which I like to use. One of the main things I use my phone for is to take photos but by breaking up the whole apple ecosystem i fear it will become more difficult for phone photos to sync with the ipad. Can anyone suggest apps or tricks that might help me sync between devices? Cheers

Locksmith stickers on front doors
youandiaredominoes replied to Vik's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I had one. Of these on my intercom system. I first noticed it a few months ago but didn't get round to investigating it, although I was suspicious. Then, yesterday, the Evening Standard had an article about this very subject. This prompted me to call 101. I've reported it but there's no exactly a great deal they can do. Useful information I suppose. -

You're on a packed train and standing up.... The train pulls into the next station, the train stops and a person sitting down gets up and makes a big fuss about getting off. Should have got ready to get off earlier. I almost want to remain in their way so they can't get off! -
What Headphones does everyone have?
youandiaredominoes replied to youandiaredominoes's topic in The Lounge
Strafer Jack - AKGs have a 2 year warranty so if you're within this - get your money back if you want. Seems ridiculous you can't get replacement leads! I think the quality of the AKGs I had were the best I've listened to - even better than expensive alternatives. I'm not even bothering with in ear - never going back! -

Problem with the AKGs is that there are no official replacement outlets. All that was wrong with my original AKGs was that a lead wasn't working. I would have been more than happy to receive a replacement but the only option was leads on eBay from China. Of course, I'd love a pair of Bose but don't think I can justify the price, but good to know you can buy spare parts. Are there any affordable Bose headphones? I also tried a pair of Bose AE2i but didn't think much of them...
