  1. Thanks so much ladies. I've tried the BF clinic at Peckham - the midwife hadn't come across it before, gave me a book to read and wandered off to help a newborn. Then I called the BF helpline who said 'heat, massage, good luck, goodbye' before I even managed to tell her it's a recurring problem! GP said heat and massage and that's about it. Perhaps I will insist more next time, citing the example of referral helping sophiechristophy's friend. Thank goodness there's the forum to ask other mums! I don't think it's positioning as it's just one side, just since July, and I've tried every which way. I'll try lecithin or just using one side if/when it comes back :( And maybe a bra shopping trip?! JessB - I'm in exactly that cycle of 'I'll stop as soon as the blockage clears' to 'maybe I won't get it again'... It's so good to hear that yours stopped eventually, there is hope for me yet! Thanks again ladies.
  2. My baby is 5 months old and breastfeeding was fine for the first two months, but since then I've had a recurring pain every single week. I think it's probably a blocked duct and blister, but no-one I've spoken to has ever come across it coming back time and time again. I really want to continue feeding my baby but for two or three days of every week I am in tears with the pain :( I have tried massage, heat, poking the blister, turning baby to feed with chin towards the lump, starting feed on that side to completely drain it, not using that side at all, but nothing seems to help. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, did you manage to stop it coming back? I'm proud of myself for making it this far and would love to carry on feeding her for her full year, but really cannot do this anymore. Any help gratefully received, thanks mums.
  3. I've not used them, but been recommended skifamille - despite the name they are Brit run with nannies etc. Have fun!
  4. A bit late for this week (obviously!) but for next week - you could try the Ivydale Chidren's Centre. We went today and it was lovely. Lots of toys for the babies, and singing at the end. From 1:30- 3:15pm. Healthcare visitor was there today, sleep specialist next week. There's also bookstart plus at peckham library 10:30-12pm; Rhyme time at Dulwich Library at 11am; or Bessemer Grange Tiny Tumblers from 1pm. Can you tell I've been researching?! So many options, have fun!
  5. I could do late Weds too possibly, but have got swimming again on Thursday (it's great!). Don't arrange around me though, I'll keep my eye out on what you decide to do and join in if I can.
  6. Hi girls, Am still happy to meet up this Wednesday at 3pm, but if many of you are away this week would next Monday or Tuesday (19/20th) suit better? I'm good either way :)
  7. Have a lovely time! I'm sad to be missing out today (also very excited about first swimming lesson!) but is anyone around next Wednesday? I can do 3pm then if that seems to be a good time for people?
  8. Snowboarder - can you do early afternoon? I have to be away by 3pm but could meet at say 1pm? Does that suit others too?
  9. We are starting swimming lessons from Thursday next week, but could meet in the morning. We won't pop along today as baby has a yucky cold which I don't want her to pass on. I'm based north of Goose Green. Happy to meet anywhere nearby.
  10. Oh no! It looks like I've checked the forum just a little too late again! Count me in for the next meet-up if I may?? Plenty of rolling space at mine if you'd like?
  11. Perhaps you will be easier to spot in the arboretum? :) I'll see what nibbles I can rustle up too... I have shoulder length brown hair and a bugaboo bee, so just like every other ED mum!! Oh well, I'm sure we'll find each other! See you tomorrow.
  12. I'm just north of Goose Green so SE15 too. Peckham Rye Cafe (the one in the park, right?) on Tuesday sounds good to me. How will I recognise you?
  13. Mind if a newbie tags along? I'd love to get to know more new mums in the area!
