  1. Mine says 30 first mate. This makes for very interesting reading. http://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/documents/s47378/Report.pdf
  2. I found this online. http://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/documents/s47378/Report.pdf
  3. At last the signage is improving though more needs to be done to communicate the change. How about some nice big banners on the buses?
  4. I just don't get the slapdash, piecemeal implementation. It looks more like a diy effort by disgruntled residents than a carefully considered plan of action carried out by a professional body. Southwark Council? More like Bodgett & Cockup.
  5. Bobbsy was this in the actual real 20 zone between roundabout and police station or somewhere on Lorsdhip Lane which is not signed as 20 mph unless you count the incorrect signs at some side road junctions?
  6. It's confusing, dangerous and quite frankly ridiculous. Joining Lordship Lane from Mount Adon the sign says 20, yet traffic is whizzing along at 30. Are they all in the wrong? Will they get tickets? Doubt it because there aren't actually any signs to tell them limit is 20 mph. Because it isn't. So, now people will get in the habit of ignoring signs because they can't trust them to display the correct information. Shambolic mess.
  7. Hi James As far as I'm aware the 20 mph speed limit on Lordship Lane applies to the section between the old Police Station and Goose Green roundabout, so why does it say 20mph on the reverse of the entry signs? There's also one on the junction of Mount Adon Park and Lordship Lane, sure there are others too.

  9. Add chopped onions and/or your choice of seasoning or not as the mood takes you. Delicious!
  10. contact a family are a great organisation, as well as providing information and support they can, as their name suggests, put you in touch with other families (with both parties permission). http://www.cafamily.org.uk They also have drop in advice sessions, Sunshine House being one of the locations http://www.southwark.gov.uk/info/200279/parenting_support_and_courses/2481/contact_a_family_drop_in_-_under_fives/2
  11. It's a tricky one. Council are damned if they do and damned if they don't as there are no easy 'please all' answers. Sdrs makes a brilliant case for the tree to stay, and as someone who loves mature trees for their beauty and majesty, let alone the environmental benefits, it would be fantastic if the tree could stay, providing the householder's house and amenities are not in any danger and the council maintain the wall. But then what happens to the pedestrians, buggy and wheelchair users, sight impaired, and those people who have anxieties or/and learning or other disabilities and are either not able to negotiate the 'enclosed' space or need to be holding hands? It's not as if they can step into the road, or cross to the other side. So enlarge the pavement - oops, there go a couple of residents parking bays. Doesn't bother me, as I live the other end of Lordship Lane, but it will bother the residents. Well done on getting the stay of execution for this glorious tree in order that everyone's views can be heard and given equal merit. Although I don't live local to the tree, my son used to attend Dog Kennel Hill up until a couple of years ago and I am familiar with the area.

  14. Just wanted to thank James for the beautiful planter purchased via this forum. Made from reclaimed timber and supplied with enough planting medium to fill it looks fantastic in my garden and is much admired. Thanks for getting it into the car for me James! 07902978104/[email protected]. www.peckhamboxes.co.uk

  17. Shouldn't the pictures be examples of your pure happiness inducing work? Using pictures from a google search without explaining they are examples of what could be achieved isn't really honest is it?

  20. Hi Duncs, they must have come to you straight after two days working flat out at my house! Brilliant guys, nothing was too much trouble. I found them to be very knowledgable & competent and as you say their attitude is so refreshing, genuine guys that are brilliant at what they do and take pride in a job well done and for a good price. Materials all charged at cost, with receipts too! Also had the teams' decorator Dicky here for four days - another top guy, really transformed my house, can't fault the work at all. Never thought I would find anyone as honest and hardworking as Vic, Carl & Dicky. Already booking for more work when pennies allow!
  21. I have neither mentioned nor sanctioned parking illegally whether children have SEN or not.
