  1. I found Anderson's character believable, being a woman in a man's world. Maybe you don't know many intelligent, focused, ruthless women. I know a couple and they are an inspiration. What was refreshing was that she didn't have to be bipolar or otherwise mentally ill to excuse her single minded, high achiever, sexually Independant personality. As for the stalker, it was interesting and disturbing to me to have an insight into what such a man might be like. The duality of his personality and separation of his two lives was fascinating. No-one complained about the graphic violence of Silence of the Lambs. Please don't call for censorship of my viewing just because it offends your sensibilities. Just watch something else.
  2. It's on BBC iPlayer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p00wrk43
  3. I'll be looking out for it. Hope it's as good as this one was.
  4. No way! Shit, I want more. Gutted.
  5. Just watched the first 5 episodes. Gillian Anderson's character is fantastic. Love the complexity of all the characters and the close up of the mind / character of the serial killer. Brilliant series so far in my opinion. Anyone else watching this?
  6. Thug Orgy
  7. Kensington & Chelsea. I don't like unpleasant, condescending rich people. I prefer people who don't look down on others because of a low income, different clothes or lifestyle choices. I find more of the kinds of people I don't like in wealthy areas, so would class those areas as shitty.
  8. I'd rather avoid Chelsea & Kensington to be honest. Many of the occupants there totally get up my nose.

  10. Why do you need to file it late? Is it just because you are waiting for your new passport? You are better submitting it on time without a passport, just send your old passports or if they are not available, copies of your passports and confirmation that your passport is being processed by your embassy. You'd need to explain it in your covering letter too and explain that you would forward the passport as soon as you receive it.
  11. Isn't this a thread for cyclists to inform eachother about cycling issues? For general banging the tired old drum of cyclists v motorists, there are loads of other threads to post on.
  12. By the way, if you submit your application after your current leave expires, you would no longer be entitled to work and you may lose the right of appeal if your application is refused. You seriously don't want to submit it out of time if you can avoid it.
  13. We are finding that recent applications that fall within the rules are being decided within 6 months and a recently submitted spouse extension application came back after about 2 months. This is a huge improvement, but I wouldn't count on it lasting to be honest. We do all different types of applications, including some which would have been easy for the applicants to do themselves, but after bad experiences, I think less people want to take the risk of doing it themselves. Not sure why anyone would want a barrister to make an application for them, we'd only use a barrister for appeal work.
  14. Maybe once the needs and safety of cyclists are engineered into our roads with proper enforcement of breaches of safety measures, then cyclists will be properly integrated into traffic and therefore less likely to do sonething dangerous whilst trying to get through Motorist-dominated roads.
  15. I agree with the wobble board plus I'd ice it with a flexible ice pack to reduce the ligament swelling. If it's torn right through I would have thought you'd have to have it operated on before you'd be able to do anything. If it's still intact but with a small tear you could still do things to strengthen the joint. Ice it for ten minutes every hour if possible during the day for about a week before you do the wobble board to strengthen the surrounding muscles. I'd do both legs on the wobble board too as you are likely to compensate for the injured ankle by using the other one more. This is has a few wobble board exercises on the downloadedable sheet: http://physiobench.com/articles/47/Wobble-Board-Benefits--Ankle-Sprain-Rehab
  16. Ted, I'm surprised you're not a fan of cyclists' lycra'd arses up in your face while you're driving. I know mine looks pretty peachy on my commute.
  17. Lol, have fun. I am hoping to continue to grow old disgracefully, but despite the spirit being willing, the flesh seems less able of late, so get a few down yer neck for me!
  18. Simple, Ted. Just continue talking on your mobile and you won't notice anything else :-)
  19. I think some nice net curtains would be more appropriate!
  20. Fantastic news! If this is enforced, cyclists won't need to try to get ahead of the traffic by going through the lights before they change to green.
  21. Hehehe: http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?feature=youtube_gdata_p&v=YPTaFRZSzI4&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DYPTaFRZSzI4%26feature%3Dyoutube_gdata_p Grayling's legal aid changes are going to destroy access to justice and challenges to use of executive power, but I don't think the lawyers will be giving up without a fight. Video is pretty funny.
  22. Lol, I had to share that with my tweeps.

  24. I wondered why deaths from trucks, buses and coaches are not included in the stats. I don't think the debate should be restricted to cars v bicycles. All motorists should be included.
  25. DMC repeat prescriptions with Boots in Peckham work very smoothly.
