Jah, if a married man shags a single woman, why is it the woman's fault? He's the one who took wedding vows and broke them, not her.
  5. The pushy middle class parents I experienced at Goodrich were not being pushy about the education of all the children, they expected their children to be given VIP treatment because they had the time to spend all day at the school. The ones I was aware of were usually mothers whose husbands earned enough that they didn't need to work and fathers who worked from home. It was a little clique that I didn't have the time or inclination to join as I was a single parent, working full-time to support my kids but I'm glad Mrs Patterson refused to give the kids of the clique preferential treatment over the kids of hard working single parents like me.

    Why do you care?
  8. Hate ants, love spiders cos they eat flys!
  9. I knew he was just being a miserable sod! Leave the old lady alone and let her have her annual knees-up.
  10. I'm sure dictatorship is even cheaper than FPTP. Maybe we should go for that instead.
  11. It's a bank holiday weekend. Stop being such a party pooper!
  12. My daughter left Goodrich last summer and I know that Mrs Patterson was having a very difficult time implementing the changes she felt were necessary in the school. There was fairly open hostility from some of the White middle-class parents whose advantage built up during the previous regime seemed to have less currency with Mrs Patterson. I didn't agree with all of her changes, but I respect her reasons for making the decisions she has made. It comes as no surprise to me that some if the 'I know better' wealthy parents in the school have turned their opposition to Mrs Patterson into something of a vendetta as that was the flavour that had started building up before my daughter left. The poster is a smart arse insult to injury and in my opinion Mrs Patterson was right to interpret it as a veiled threat of an attempted coup. I think the colour of the character about to be lynched is irrelevant. It's the sentiment that is important after months of undermining hostility.
  13. I like the idea of an end to massive swings from right to left-ish and back again an increase in co-operation with smaller parties like the Greens. It will end the arrogance of the leaders of the big 2 parties and make them have to listen to the views of a wider selection of the population. Also anything that loosens the grip of propagandists such as Murdoch et al is a plus in my book. It's the whole thing about being able to fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but even Murdoch can't fool all of the people all of the time, so the wider the pool of deciding voters, the better in my view.
  14. I'm voting yes. Anything to stop splitting the left-ish vote and giving the Tories more power than they deserve.
  15. Lol, spookily I was down the lane doing a bit of shopping on Saturday! Now I feel strangely paranoid!!
  16. Don't you think this thread must seem really creepy and a bit scary for the people you are all posting about? I'd end up a paranoid mess if people were commenting on my every move in my home area.
  17. Lol, yes let's one of each :))
  18. I see so many posts that make me chortle away to myself, but I rarely post and say so. There must be others like me who read something they like but dont want to/can't post a reply for whatever reason, so I think a 'like' button showing we enjoyed someone's contribution might be a good idea. What do you reckon?
  19. I didn't know I was still asleep. Can someone pinch me please cos I'm having a weird dream.
  20. For people with children who are working but dont earn big salaries, I would imagine this would be very welcome.
  21. Or parked their campervan near a dropped kerb.
  22. Brilliant series. And series 2 looked good too.
  23. That sounds pretty sinister and a horrible situation to be in.
  24. The net is closing! (unless he comes back for Lund!)
