When we have built extensions on the boundary before we have always asked what finish they would like on their side of the wall. If you want a white rendered wall instead of brick there is no harm in speaking to your neighbour and seeing if they will do this - after all they will never have to look at it. From the builder's perspective building a block wall and then rendering I suspect is cheaper and will definitely be quicker - so probably less disruptive to you.

I did the appeal myself - putting in some common sense arguments for why it should be approved (e.g. precedent, no neighbour objections etc). After popping down to the planning dept and speaking to a different planner he didn't see any particular reason the first application was declined so we knew it was a borderline decision. At the same time we submitted slightly altered plans (to account for the concerns causing the original application to be rejected) in case the appeal was rejected - so not to delay the building work any further. In the end the appeal was accepted and the revised plans were approved.

I say southwark - fortnightly bin collections
Judge replied to Terry Thomas esq's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I agree with ClareC - we generally fill 3 blue boxes a week plus a bag or two of paper/cardboard. I agree that it would be a lot better to have weekly collection of all recycling. -
So because someone chooses to send their kids to private school (actually saving the council money) that means that they can't take advantage of council provided road safety measures - does that mean that they shouldn't use zebra crossings on their way to school too since these are provided by the council?

Got the 40 bus from LB - traffic moving Ok so far -
The idea was to slow traffic down as they enter court lane from lordship lane (from the south) - the remodelling is pretty effective at doing this.

Court Lane resurfacing from 9 March

I agree with thebeard. I drive into work along Meeting House Lane in Peckham which was resurfaced only last year. This surface already has potholes in it. -
How about a version of Il Bordello in Wapping - its always packed - great atmosphere - good value food in huge portions

KD - noticed one of the old signs (a bit worse for wear) at the bottom of Court Lane (near the junction with Calton Avenue/DUlwich Village) on the way into work this morning
