dulwich primary care centre is closing DR Sarma's practice
maxxi replied to lameduck's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
In response to emails I sent to healthwatch Southwark and NHS England I've had the following in reply (from the latter via the former) In reply to my asking why the practice was closing rather than being taken up by another GP: Dr Sarma holds a PMS contract this is the (provision of a set of services which are specified in the actual GP contract ), which is commissioned under a local arrangement. GPs that hold a PMS contact may ask NHS England, upon retirement, to take on a partner as part of their retirement plan. This allows a single handed GP practice to be maintained in the longer term. Dr Sarma did not request to take on a partner at the East Dulwich Medical Centre, and handed back his contract to NHS England. And in reply to why patients were being palmed off onto other practices with no say in the matter despite local information seeming to stress these other practices were over-subscribed and waiting times for appointments and/or getting phone calls answered were already excessive: NHS England looked at three options for the contract and patient list: whether there is sufficient capacity and interest in the local area for patients to register with neighbouring GP practices to procure the existing patient list to place the list under temporary arrangements In this case, a review found that there were eleven alternate GP practices that were within 1.2 miles of East Dulwich Medical Centre. All of these practices had capacity for additional patients and wished to accept Dr Sarma?s patients. So it would appear that the eagerness of the other practices to 'accept' a large influx of new patients was the deciding factor. Makes you wonder how 'capacity' is decided and how many patients these practices have to have before they consider themselves full. -

or call it Morning Glory and just keep it trimmed/trained back and remove the flowers before they seed - it can be attractive

"How are you?" is surely a question we hope not to get a full and frank answer to; "Well, actually, I'm a little bit low right now, you see I've been having these....." So I'd happily accept "Good" "Fine" "Top hole" or any answer of similar brevity. My OH (and her family/friends) more often put the emphasis on the first rather than second word (and often use the previously mentioned archaic "ye" for "you") so it becomes "How are ye?" Which I think always sounds more like a greeting (than an enquiry)

Hmmm. Just to reiterate - I left MG to go to Dr Sarma and would rather have a monkey with a stick try to cure my ailments than go back there. When and if the axe falls that is the LAST place anyone who cares about their health should think of. -
Blowers had me convinced he'd gone on the second to last ball - exciting but oh, for a class spinner.

Sabrina - people already aware and more discussions here - check out this thread http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1335717,1339467,page=2#msg-1339467 -
It's ITV so you could always watch ITV+1 for a 6pm kick-off and live your life an hour in the past for an hour or two - as long as you don't meet yourself hurrying home from work you'll be fine.

That is quite another trehad.

Agreed - but he wasn't boring the arse off me with his monotonous deadpan observations on the game. Henry on the other hand....

North Cross Road Market (where's it gone?)
maxxi replied to Ron70's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Whilst we're on the subject - I have a new culinary love - the nduja salami from the young couple who have the olives and salami stall on NthX market. Had it a couple of weeks ago and ate most of it raw (delicious) but on their advice heated up small portions of the second one to dip into with bread etc, and/or use as pasta sauce - DELICIOUS. -
only here to bump this thread - the way things are going it may soon be the only sanctuary left for the terminally bewildered

You're probably only thinking of French footballers - in which case I waive my objection

Ah, of course! They all cheat so let it go. Why didn't I think of that? And so if I name a few you will have the evidence to back this up?

The post-match comments by Hodgson & Gerrard should be written on stiff parchment and rammed down their throats with a starched otter. eta: I am staying the course in the hope of some footballing entertainment from Ivory Coast and Japan. (Asahi and Bangui - keep up)

That DOES kinda stick in the craw - the energy sapping, mind numbingly dull and too-slowly delivered observations of a confirmed cheat lighting up the studio. And you're right - England DO have the players; what is unfortunately evident is they don't have the manager/coach to take advantage of that fact. Oh, and can someone shoot Danny Mills, PLEASE.
-
That was an inevitability that just took too much time happening. Sterling was the only one who gave it a go - the rest were in Hodgson's image - conservative, timid, clueless, stifled, lacklustre and just plain DULL. He was always going to produce a side of supply-teachers and that's what we have. Back off and do nowt until it's too late. Same old feckin' same old. I was enjoying the football up to this game but this game was poor - Italy won easily but they aren't that good - that's how bad it was.
