  5. Not to worry, Malumbu's bound to come along with one of his hilarious "Do you lot think there are more posers in ED than Clapham - oh, and what's with all this Nduja all of a sudden? - discuss" threads....

Balls Mick. I have freely vented my feelings re Samuel Allardyce (amongst others) and whether it's a local forum a national one or one that has legions of Allardyce-loving Inuit after my blood and holding fund raisers to send a hit squad over to SE22 for my views, it's how I feel about the chappy. What's the point? Well that's a question a lot of forumites have asked themselves (usually before an EDF transmogrification and re-emergence) but life would be terminally dull if we all kept to ourselves what we think about others or have you never visited the Nunhead forum? (which currently seems to be in the hands of Norwegian Bots). For the record - my abiding memory of RK is a ManU visit to Upton Park with him strutting around like a cock (sic)as Beckham (a spoilt little brat at the time) spent the game committing niggly fouls on West Ham players and hiding behind Keane for protection every time someone wanted to discuss the matter.

You're probably right but that sort of cagey shit always backfires. Playing that way is how the South Americans earn their bread and butter and they'll do it all day long and way better than England. I know it was a friendly and didn't count but remember Barnes in 84- "The Brazilians never put a tackle in, but maybe they were shocked." Barnes recalled. "They probably thought no Englishman could do this ? let him have a shot!" I'd settle for a moment or two like that and let's face it, trying to play their way will end in misery. ETA: There is NO f*cking point in Wellbeck

And why am I posting during an England game?............ because I'm watching it! (tentative, timid, not really knowing what to do against a poor side - ffs someone grow a pair and take them on!)

Different matter. He's entertaining enough as a pundit but as a player I hated the pr*ck and thought he was a thug with a prima-donna complex.

I agree that Pochettino did well at Soton but didn't perform miracles. They weren't doing too badly when he arrived and they had a habit of producing great young players that bigger clubs poach long before he arrived. If he can take one or two of them with him that would help - and he should get shot of the Billy-Big-Bollocks. Wish we had him though.

So Harry is lining up Rio, Joe Cole and Morrison - they should all be at UP - yes Rio's old and slow(er) but could sort things at the back - the old way of experience in tandem with youth would have been a good thing. S'pose I have to get used to muscle in tandem with muscle.
  15. Hurrah. An Irons clean sweep... bus cancelled due to double booking with EDF "Rio or Bust Tour 2014"(currently outside Sidmouth)

  17. Refusing to commit to a prediction until I have my wall chart. Looking forward to this one more than the last two to be frank - despite Hodgson - as we seem to have shrugged off some of the crap that went with the old guard. Hope Lampard and Gerrard (yes I know some still rate him but he always seems such a whingeing Jonah playing for Engand) are peripheral at best and that young/new blood is given its head.

Given your fondness, in the pronoun camp, for the second person (plural) I'm surprised you are surprised by the lack of applause, chortling and back-slapping accompanied by posts of the "well said malumbu" variety.

Pleased for Bale - had a bit of a mare but kept going. Liked Marcelo - big game I know but up until extra time it was a tad dull.

  24. The way things stand - with the kind of extrapolations into a Gen election that tv politic shows love - the most likely coalition would be Con/UKIP - a Lib/Lab pact (remastered) wouldn't be enough.
