Just seen this - are we at chain tipping point locally?
maxxi replied to Louisa's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
If I read it right it's two properties - one freehold one leasehold - that have been knocked into one. How does that work when buying/selling? Maybe cheap because the lease is short? -
He did this one on brick rch - corner of Heber Rd/LL (think it's still there)

The women who eat etc. seems to have as many women as male posters and the 'tubecrush' site seems to be mainly about photographing fit young men or 'hotties' (their word) and lusting after their thighs/abs etc rather than complaining about the room they take up ("Bored? Fancy looking at some of our sexy guys to cheer you up? Check out our pictures"). I think a re-jig to "People Who Eat on Tubes" would be more democratic and we could laugh at (and deride) everyone then.("Fat b*st*rd eats pork pie on bus!" "Gerrrtcha fat boy!") Although the newly formed "Women Who Eat Wherever The F*ck They Want" FB page is growing by the minute and a 'lunch-event' is being planned.....

Crown House, anyone know what the plan is for new use.

Cold and unloved but yes, good lines. Like something from an abandoned 1930s Aerodrome. This is how the discussion was going a year ago when the nursery lost out to some kind of retail unit - or so it seemed then... http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1005625,page=1 -

Don't want to jinx it (honest) but The Irons do sometimes have a knack of spoiling the bigger clubs' ambitions at this end of the season. Let's just hope it's ManC on the final day, eh?

Many years ago, a caravan site somewhere in Wales, a mother yelling at full belt in a strong valleys accent: "Elvis!? Elvis! Come and have your sandwiches!" -
...and how many teams have won the Champions League NOT having been Champions when they entered it? Man United... Liverpool... Chelsea...

The going home for the weekend song thread...come on you groovey foookers

As it's Grand National weekend.. ...that's better - should really see some things through before/... well, you know... -
red devil Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Yes, but Jah would win on away goals... ;) Nonsense. UEFA would intervene with Michel Platini insisting on a play-off - all FIFA countries against all UEFA countries with a CONCACAF super-final adjudicated by Jack Warner.

I think I prefer Aussie slang creeping in to U.S. - seems a better fit for our tongues and helps out when our phrases get a bit stuffy. Have to admit to using 'no worries' after having done a favour (or should that be 'done a solid' - eeew) for someone or just agreeing to something. That seems to have moved on among Aussies though to 'No Wuckers' - from the spoonerism (an English thing) of No Wucking Forries. Edited to change 'in' to 'on' (in case anyone thought that too was an import)

Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > As in that's where the "rock up" thing has come > from, not that Australians cause me irrational > rage. I quite like it - typically Aussie and often used when someone is late and doesn't care (ime) as in "when did you rock up?" Reminds me of another Aussie saying I like - "Rack off!" (I think I got that from Joe Mangel).

...and ninety fecking quid for a "match day Nike shirt" (whatever that is) in the new England kit range - 10 months after the last one was released. Don't often agree with Joey Barton or Stan Collymore but this really is taking the piss.

Just as well Sunderland didn't play Johnson from the start.

Anyone watching this...? Started off like a mix of CCTC and The Word. Now I know what all those Media-Studies graduates do for a living. Not sure those live walks along the river will last without more 'bombing'. Particularly like the glazed stare into the autocue while the mouth remembers its training and twitches into a grin 'warm-relaxed-welcoming-...' -though if her head tilts over any further I'm going to have to stand the tv on end.

Agreed - had great sheet of pork ribs from him this week - cooked as bodice (with cabbage and mash). I used to get the Clonakilty black and white puds from Guy Sparkes in NthX rd but they no longer do the market.

What are those brown ducks then? And WHAT is that sound!

Wisteria tends to err on the flat side imho, a fully fledged Laburnum is what you need for the high notes (crystal clear with no tinny top-notes). I had a begonia that was always sighing - eventually I had to give it away. It was just too much to handle. Edited to put the 'o' in 'no'. And to reflect aftersmelling hearing the roses. -

numbers Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > not hugely surprised to see closure of small > independent shop and tesco mentioned on the same > thread. If it were just hoofing up the road to a Tescos that'd be one thing - it's the fact that this imperfect little gem can be replaced by sitting behind the curtains and getting it all 'online'.

Gutted. Now where can I get the red lemonade and Irish-Cadbury Caramel Bar treats for my OH? Not to mention Taytos and Club Orange - okay so you might have to settle for an Irish Independent instead of an Examiner and you maybe had to let herself finish a conversation she was having before getting your hands on your swag but this is a real loss to the area.
