  1. Too much love.

  3. Seconds before the same moment I was cursing Hodgson's caution and backing-off approach. Both sides very defensive and hoping for the long pass or breakaway run. After other games I've seen so far it's a bit like watching 2 old men pushing each other around in a toilet.
  4. Phil Neville is hilarious - like having my Nan commentate. Bring back Lawro.
  5. I think the grocery/food analogy works if (for example) there was a chronic food shortage (as there is housing) and the well-off bought up as much as they could - more than they themselves needed - then made a profit by selling it on to those who needed it. Nothing wrong with that - it's capitalism at work, innit. Not so sure how many buy-to-let fans there would be if housing stock was plentiful but then that's supply and demand which is also capitalism, innit.
  6. Great 3rd Costa Rican goal - even better, the sight of Suarez looking on from the bench. If they won't risk him when it gets desperate he must be in real bother.

  9. So Welbeck/Sterling instead of Welbeck/Lallana... why not Lallana/Sterling? Wonder what the odds are on Welbeck getting a red card for diving...?
  10. FOR FECK'S SAKE E-Dealer!! For over three hours I've been waiting to hear whether you managed it or not - and NOT A BLOODY WORD! I suppose you think it's clever getting everyone's excitement meters going into the red only to leave us all hanging! My fingers are bloodied stumps and I am hitting the neighbour's stolen valium. Thanks a bleeding bunch!!!

May be alone in not really seeing why anyone would want to watch in a pub when it's all on free-to-view tv. Less of a queue in toilets at half time.
  12. I remember that Bodyline tv series where they showed Jardine doing it earlier in his career - just to show what kind of a bounder he is. I think a dismissal is more than fair after Buttler was repeatedly warned; he is, after all, trying to gain an unfair advantage - like a pitcher throwing to base when a batter (sic) tries to take a lead from one base to another; the batter/batsman has to learn to 'watch it' that' all.
  13. Ooh, joint top with RC - I knew Chile wouldn't let me down. Feeling an unwise burst of optimism which might cause me to go for a 3:0 England win - that should take me down a peg or two.
  14. Viva Chile!
  15. The decline of Barca should have been a pointer maybe. ETA - I mean relative decline.
  16. Comical how they are falling apart. Spain - good in the sun, shit in the rain.
  17. numbers Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > deletes thread* Damn. Just when I thought I'd found my spiritual home.
  18. I went with 3:0 - bloody silly o.g. Have gone for Mexico, Spain & Chile today though might have to get more adventurous if the points stay tight.
  19. A definite penalty. IF you're playing basketball. Can't wait for BBC games, ITV really suck at this.
  20. Love that disappearing spray - you can hear the shouts "Don't get it on my boots!" As for the 'cupping' replay graphic - I'm just enjoying the total absence of vuvu fecking zuelas. Brazil reminded me of England in first 15 (wait) - fine up to half-way line but not able to get past a Croatia that pressed them hard so they hit long balls (usually to Danny Alves) that Croatia read and intercepted. Only thing spoiling it for me is Andy 'Ron-Manager' Townsend. Wish he'd shut the %$*! up. (Tyldesley not much better though - "scuffed shot" my arse).

They are definitely one of my 'boo's Along with: France - because they're French Russia - set my teeth on edge USA - stop taking the piss and fuck off back to baseball Spain - just too big headed about it all Cheers? Italy - a long time ex - fond memories Chile - been there and made a lot of friends Brazil - because without them a world cup is a poorer thing Croatia - Hrvatska! Portugal - I quite like him.

They said they had not accepted it was a done deal, and were hopeful something could be done. My local pharmacist told me she had also been down to sign the petition (so should anyone who can get down there) and was spreading the word, so even though it's late there's still a fight.
  24. Love this place. The draught red (currently a spicy-ish Cotes du Rhone)and white are good, and there will soon be a draught ros? (provencal-type) too, which will be chilled. Bruno & Lou are both friendly and willing to talk about any and all of their wines and are open to feedback - which makes a change from "it's what head office send us". The Beaulieu chocolate is pretty damn good too.

I moved to Dr Sarma BECAUSE Melbourne Grove was so poor (and it really is poor) looks like this is a done deal and we'd all better look elsewhere - I would strongly suggest you give MG a miss.
