  1. Oh for God's sake don't start all this crap again it's been done to death. There was a road going cyclist killed yesterday outside Dulwich College by a lorry. Maybe that's more worthy of discussion?
  2. You only have to look at Artists Open House week to see that almost everyone in SE21/22/15 is, or lives next door to, an artist. It's great to live in such an arty area, I'm all for the big street art. The bee wall by the Plough has always been an eyesore and is now a thing of beauty.
  3. How interesting. I live almost next door to the mansions and never noticed Dog Poo Lily. I must check it out.
  4. Rye Lane is generally a game of dodge the pedestrian. The camouflaged shared cycle path is just a ridiculous idea.
  5. Without an evening license I can't see how you could make it pay as a cafe. Shame as it is a beautiful venue.
  6. Jersey Tiger Moth on Friern Road.
  7. Yes the webbed feet would be a givaway. It does look like pigeon, thanks.
  8. Just found this poor thing in our garden. Any idea what it is? From the beak it looks like a duck or a goose.
  9. A cycle path alongside the pavement from East Dulwich Road to Barry Road would be great. Speaking as someone who's been under a bus it's actually very scary when a bus looms up behind you along that stretch.
  10. Should this be in Lounge as it's just idle chatter and not Dulwich specific?
  11. We've just started using the milkman... I like the chink of bottles in the morning.

  13. I've seen the occupant ranting at the traffic. I doubt she is actually being persectued.
  14. Ryedale... No reception last night.
  15. Really? I live in Ryedale too. Hurrah for her.
  16. Sounds great. Looking forward to it.
  17. Brilliant post computedshorty. I don't suppose you have any old photos from the time?
  18. This is very interesting for me. I grew up in the 1960's development at the top of Friern Road. I think this pic must have been taken on that site which I understand was prefabs after some V2 damage. Photo caption reads: First prize in Camberwell Council's competition for the smartest pre-fab garden in the borough has been awarded to Mr L.T.Jackson, of Friern Road, Dulwich. September 13th 1948.

A pleasure. I actually live in one of the Victorian houses on Ryedale As soon as I saw the pic I thought it looked like Underhill. I'd love to find an old photo of my house. Or Ryedale as it was before the 1930's houses were developed. I think my house was originally part of Balchier Road.
  20. I'll do some more digging when I have a bit more time. There might be loads of old negatives in storage.
  21. Well he could see I started the thread. Anyhow.. For the record I work at a photo press agency. We have it archived on file as 'East Dulwich House'.
  22. I'm convinced it's Underhill opposite Rydeale. It's on a steep hill. Would be interesting to check the census.
  23. I was thinking of those Underhill houses. I'll look later.
