  1. So do I, and I started it!!! I have changed title.
  2. I went last week, and it was lovely and warm, then went on Tuesday and wished I hadn't stepped in as it was freezing. It shouldn't be so cold that you shiver when you briefly stop swimming! A lot of grit in parts at bottom.
  3. With fibre you are paying for the speed, which is the number, yours is 300 so if you did a lot of gaming, for example, you would want the fastest possible. If it's just office work or maybe streaming on Netflix you likely won't need as fast, but, if there are a lot of people in your house all doing their own thing on different devices, then faster speeds are better. I don't rely on my Wi-Fi much other than when I am using my mobile. I use Ethernet cables to connect up everything, I Have one cable running from my router, along the skirtings and through a hole I drilled in the wall to another room. I have attached the plusnet speed guide which gives you an idea of how it works.
  4. For Plusnet, I pay £31.99 for Full Fibre 500. (the number is the line speed you have paid for) I have recently recontracted. Always phone them up, and ask what deal they can do for me. Usually get a decent reduction. Sue, I would suggest you call them, especially if you are close to contract renewal. Sometimes they will change deals mid-contract, as I have found in the past.
  5. Amazon seem to do this more and more now. They don't even ring the doorbell, just leave them lying on the door step, then you find out it's been delivered when you check tracking. The official Amazon vans are frequently followed on their routes by thieves and take the opportunities freely given.
  6. Me too, now and then it would be down to the exchange and an issue there. Comparing what I have had done in the last 15 or so years with them, friends have had more issues with Sky, Virgin etc than I have ever had! I moved to fibre a while ago with them, and, 'touchwood', everything has been great.
  7. If it's your Wi-Fi that was the problem, that's more likely the router (or the device you were using), not the actual service coming into the router. I am with plusnet, and whenever mind has been glitchy, I check with a device connected via ethernet cable to the router to see if that is okay. I've been with them for potentially 15 years now and each time there has been an issue (not many and not plusnets fault, more the infrastructure) I have looked elsewhere, but everyone moans about their providers at some point! Some more than others. I often feel it's better the devil you know!
  8. Hi, I'm so sorry, it's gone and I meant to close this post.
  9. they probably frequent the parks more in summer when there are more people around, dropping food etc. Likewise, I haven't seen as many in my garden recently.
  10. I bought this a while back now, but haven't put it up due to change of circumstances. I have all the parts, fixings etc, plus a spare lock/handle assembly and an extra new key/lock barrel. You would need a van or large car to collect. Some parts are heavy, but manageable with two people. Would need to be carried through my flat from the garden, but I am happy to help if you are on your own. Currently retailing at just over £700. Please see the link on Asgard's website showing which model it is, sizes etc. Assembly plans are also available there in pdf format, plus a video. It is the green model. https://www.asgardsss.co.uk/bike-storage-x3 I am in East Dulwich, Trossachs Road.
  11. I have noticed over the years, they put things on sale, when they can't shift the on the shelf stock, which isn't surprising.
  12. I have some bird feeders and also some squirrel deterrent items. Also some feeders that just screw on to standard plastic bottles which you can fill with seed. Trossachs Road.
  13. Plusnet are great if you re-contract with them. I frequently manage to get a lower price than they give for new customers. I need to do mine again as my contract is up next month.
  14. Whilst I am not sure if this is appropriate to this case, I know that often people from minority groups don't feel safe with the police and there have been many incidents where people from minority groups have been mistreated, beaten etc, just for being.
  15. no, because I am rather tired at querying things all the time.
  16. I only stayed in 15mins. Then showered well!! I don't know who is responsible. I can't figure out who to make a complaint to, other than the centre itself, and since everyone (staff) can see the problem, that obviously isn't going to make a lot of difference. Actually, I don't even know if it was sand. It just reminded me of seaside pools when I was a kid, when there was always sand in them.
  17. I went to the pool today, glad to have it open again, but was pretty shocked at the state of the pool itself. The floor of the pool had loads of patches of what looked like sand plus a lot of underwater floating debris, which looked like tissue. I am sure everyone swimming saw all of it, hard to miss. Is the filtration not sorted, or is this how it is now, I wonder.
  18. Found a red bank card still in the card machine at a self-checkout late this afternoon. Handed it into the staff. Hopefully it will be reunited!
  19. My amazing barbers I have used for 10 years has closed, so I am looking for another. Anyone got recommendations?
  20. You need another tyre. Ideally, change as soon as possible. https://www.theaa.com/breakdown-cover/advice/tyre-bulge
  21. Just got this...... Thank you for your continued patience and understanding during the closure of the pool at Dulwich Leisure Centre. We deeply appreciate your support throughout this period. We’re pleased to let you know that school swimming successfully resumed as part of our phased reopening. This was an important step in testing the performance of the existing filtration system and we’re happy to report that it has coped well. With that reassurance, we’re now ready to move forward with the next stages of reopening: Phase 2 – Morning Lane Swimming, Silver Swim and Aqua Aerobics Dates: From 9 June to 13 July Weekdays: 6:30am to 8:30am Saturdays: 7:00am to 8:00am Tuesday Silver Swim sessions: 3pm to 4pm Tuesday Aqua Aerobics class: 11:30am to 12:30pm Phase 3 – Evening Lane Swimming Dates: 1 July to 13 July Monday to Friday: 8:00pm to 9:45pm Full Closure for Filter Installation The new state-of-the-art filters are scheduled to arrive in mid-July. To allow for installation, the pool will close for approximately six weeks. Pool Closure Dates: 14 July to 24 August We know another closure may be disappointing, but this work is essential for delivering a safer, more efficient, and more enjoyable swimming environment going forward. Phase 4 - Full Reopening Date: 25 August We anticipate that we will be able to fully re-open the pool on 25 August. All programmes will resume, and swimming lessons will return to Dulwich Leisure Centre. Swimming lessons Swimming lessons will remain at alternative venues until we fully re-open to avoid further disruption. We look forward to welcoming you back to lessons at Dulwich when we fully re-open. A separate email will be sent nearer the time to confirm details. Help us to keep the pool clean As we welcome swimmers back, please remember that good pool hygiene is vital for everyone’s safety. We kindly ask all swimmers to shower before entering the water — it really helps us keep the pool clean and maintain a healthy environment for all. Membership Adjustments We’ll continue to keep you informed throughout this process and will share full details soon about eligibility for membership adjustments. Thank you again for your continued patience and support. We look forward to seeing you back in the pool very soon. Warm regards, Phillippa Gillespie General Manager, Dulwich Leisure Centre
  22. 24th March was the first message saying it was closed due to the filtration issue. Well over two months now. I would like to think in this time, they might be taking the opportunity, whilst it's not being used, to do up the changing areas. Properly deep cleaning them, getting rid of all the mould and mildew, fixing broken showers, descaling them. I imagine that's wishful thinking.
  23. I am sure the dry cleaners on the corner has CCTV outside, but might not be the right angle.
  24. I think Jones of Brockley on East Dulwich Grove sell coffee beans
