  1. Another recommendation for Steve.

We contacted him as the bulb in our NEFF oven sheared off in our hands as we tried to change it! He advised me what part I needed to order directly from NEFF and then came and fitted it when it was delivered.

He also gave me some very useful advice about what products to use/not use in our dishwasher, plus gave me some advice about our washing machine.

I'd highly recommend him, as he is efficient, friendly and knowledgeable, plus his rates are very reasonable.

  2. In case you missed the May NCT Nearly New Sale in Dulwich, the NCT will be holding a nearly new sale on Saturday, 29 June between 11am and 1pm at The St Laurence Centre, 37 Bromley Road, Catford, SE6 2TS.

NCT members will be admitted at 10.45am with their membership cards. Entry is ?1.

We've had an excellent response from our sellers and there will be a great selection of clothes, toys, books and other equipment available on the day.

  3. I'd love it if it was Ottolenghi, they do the most divine salads and cakes. :)

  4. I'm really disappointed with Le Chandelier, after going there for many many years for brunch and tea and cake we went to go in with our pram and were immediately told that they were fully booked and couldn't accomodate us. As we left, other people arrived and were seated immediately.

Why is it for years they are happy to accept our money and as soon as we try and go in with (a sleeping) baby in a pram we are refused?

Out of principle we won't be going there again, but wish we hadn't spent so much in there over the years.

On a more positive note, we ended up in the Blue Brick Cafe, great coffee and amazing carrot cake and most welcoming to families even though it was packed and not the largest cafe in East Dulwich.

  5. Hello All

Sorry I've missed the last few meet up's and for the radio silence.

Unfortunately, things didn't quite go to plan with the arrival of our little one! We found at 39 weeks & 5 days that she was extended breech and was booked in for a planned c-section on Monday (8th). Unfortunately due to theatre being too busy with emergency sections, we were 'bumped' until Wednesday (10th) when our daughter, Molly Rose was born. We then had to spend five days in hospital as she developed jaundice and needed photo-therapy and had a mild infection and needed IV anti-biotics. We're home now and enjoying life as a little family.

We hope to make one of the meet up's on a Monday or a Friday in due course.

Congratulations to those that have recently had their babies and good luck to those that are still to 'pop'.

  6. Hello! If you can afford it Lottie87 definitely get a removals firm in to pack you up - we used Harradines twice in the last year and they were fantastic!

I thought I would join this thread and say we're expecting our first on the 7th October - we're very excited after having our 20 week scan today and all was fine, was slightly concerned the little one wasnt growing in there as everyone kept commenting how small my bump was - happy days - congratulations to you all! :)

  7. Chez Bruce for me has to be one of the best restaurants in London. We've been a number of times & have never been disappointed!

I'm sorry to say I was disappointed with Heston's dinner, in my opinion I think it's over hyped. We were served flat champagne on arrival & the food was average, in fact the dessert was so bitter my friend & I could not eat it.

My top 4 in London (in no order) are Chez Bruce, Pollen Street Social, Gordon Ramsay Royal Hospital Road (all his other restaurants don't compare to this one) & River Cafe!

So, are people generally in agreement then that the housing market will remain stagnant for the next 12-18 months & that prices will actually fall? I've seen differing opinions in the press .... I'd be interested in people's thoughts about how prices in ED/Peckham/Nunhead/HOP might go....
