  1. HI I have a wall that is suitable for street art. Close to Franklins and Farm shop. Been thinking to try to get a mural for a while PM me Thanks
  2. I am looking for a nanny/childcarer who could collect and drop off my daughter every Friday afternoon from Dulwich to Herne Hill. It is a short trip, yes, but she needs to be at her dance lesson within 10 minutes of finishing school and I am looking for someone who could commit to doing this trip for her every Friday for the next 6 weeks, as I am working. Willing to pay ?5 per week.....
  3. With help for my corporation tax returns [v.small business] and with advice on another new business Any recommendations would be welcome Many thanks
  4. Hi I am looking for a local metal worker who could weld/fix some the back sections of some vintage metal cafe chairs for me Am local in East Dulwich Not a big job but looking to get it done fairly quickly Please PM me with rough costs and availability Many thanks
  5. Would the people's supermarket be a mix of the Co-operative and the Franklin's farm shop? Much more preferable than M&S and Waitrose.
  6. Dear Si Mangia I eat very often at your restaurant also, as I live in Honor Oak I don't quite understand about the tone of your mail - I support a lot of local businesses and do not know quite what you are suggesting that I have criticised at your place.
  7. Calm down I haven't responded as yet because I'm busy yes - do give it a try. Surely the answer to that question is that I had a lovely sunday lunch there with my family I also support MrBen with his view on opening new businesses in a recession - it surely can't be easy so would be helpful to offer constructive criticism rather than scathing remarks????
  8. Heh heh I went for lunch at Rocca today for pasta! Had a lovely plate of pasta pesto with the addition of green beans and potato, an authentic pasta alla genovese - I have to say it was delicious. The pasta there is made from OO grade flour, which is why I can eat it [as I have specific dietary requirement], and this does often taste slightly different to what is more commonly used. I like Si Mangia too - a good local eat - I know Lorenzo's and that they are sister restaurants, but I heard that their dough is frozen as is their seafood Love thai corner too - especially the BYO!!
  9. I'd forgotten all about your ridiculous slanting on this place Fazer 71 Have you found anywhere in the local vicinity that is up to your very high standards yet?
  10. Maxxi I'm not sreaming - and understand your point about kids intelligence. But, there is the issue of motorists jumping lights and chancing ill timed turns. Our kids would not read a motorists intentions as they do not drive, whereas an adult may pick up if a vehicle is going to chance at the lights. For me, this is the issue. We need our lollipop people!
  11. Charter school also use the crossing. Your tone in previous posts is very unnecessary and offensive. A lot of parents that choose private education nowadays are not wealthy, just normal working individuals. In answer to your question, no I do not think that JAGS [or Alleyns] should pay. We live in a community. I do not ask that I should receive tax relief because I opt out of the state schooling system....
  12. My daughter attends one of the aforementioned private schools, and fyi I do live locally and pay taxes. As it happens I am unable to walk her into school as I am going to work early to pay the fees. Grow up. The one thing that gives me peace of mind is knowing that there is an authority manning the crazy junction at east dulwich grove. The crossing is particularly subject to erratic driving in rush hour as it is very precarious for drivers, children and cyclists alike. If it is left unmanned it is only a matter of time before there is an accident. Some of you need to get off your soapboxes....
  13. http://www.themeatwagon.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/sixteen-hawkers_final-wk-1.jpg thebeard - the above link is for the festival. Apologies, Vietnamese was on Thursday night. Re. Rocca - Strongly disagree, ingredients from Brindisa are not poor quality [i asked about their tuna on the salad]. Anyway, each to their own... Happy Saturday
  14. I notice that you edited your post to include your blight against Rocca, are you in cahoots with Fazer71? Hehe Why don't you try the Rye pub on Peckham Rye - they are having a food festival this weekend. I've tried the vietnamese offering at Broadway Market - that was 'yummy'
  15. I think Fazer must work for Pizza Express - like their food - bland and frozen Rocca is owned by the same people as Franco Manca Why dont you look up Guiseppe Mascoli and see the link between the instead of harping on about this endlessly There was a queue there tonight when I passed by after work. Its Monday night!
