I am looking for someone to create some simple 'scripts' to automate certain tasks on a Windows 10 Surface 4 tablet. For example, to switch off an external monitor with one click (instead of the 4 steps required normally). This is for a disabled person using eye controlled device. Would prefer someone able to help me understand, and perhaps teach me, as I will need ongoing support for a variety of tasks. Hi Joe - nothing very complicated. Assembling clips, cutting (editing), adding sound track, uploading to a YouTube (or similar) service for sharing with specific people, Most difficult task (and you may need to do some research)- adding subtitles. Perhaps outside iMovie, but using VLS to add a set file, then outputting as with the subtitles embedded (rather than 'adding subtitles'). I am available from Thursday - almost any time. Francis

I should have started this much earlier, when you could still get away with almost an ordinary PC - now you need dedicated equipment with sophisticated settings (and preferably your own solar power!). I was spurred into acting by an amusing book "Bitcoin: The Future of Money" by Dominic Frisby (reviewed this week in the Spectator). But the technical difficulties are well explained in this article http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/01/17/ten_bitcoin_miners/ A money system which requires an 'effort' to make (as opposed to fiat' money), and which cannot be manipulated by government still seems a good idea, despite the difficulties. How about an East Dulwich Bit mining pool?!!

I am about to buy a Wickes water softener (Model E10T). Seems to be at least half the price of any other supplier. Have you installed one - or if you looked at the Wickes web site, could you? Am in East Dulwich Grove.

Two answers to 'safe'. 1) If you have an Apple computer, it cannot be damaged by downloading a rogue file. Windows is much more vulnerable. 2) There is a very remote possibility that if you did this a lot, you might receive a warning from your Internet Service Provider. Note: many ISPs block the main Pirate Bay site (but there are ways around this). Hope this helps.

If the problem is software, I can almost certainly repair it. If it is hardware (for example, the internal hard drive) then this can sometimes be repaired (or ultimately replaced). If it is a screen problem, then this will normally require a replacement (although there are alternatives such as using an external monitor). PM me if you want to talk on phone about it. FH

I could do this for you. I have had an eBay account since they started, and currently hold a 100% star rating (important when potential buyers are weighing up whether to buy from you). As I am putting my 'reputation' on the line, I would need to put honest descriptions of the goods you want to sell, and I might advise you that certain items are not worth the effort. Unless the item is too bulky to post, it is very unlikely that anyone will ask to view first. When sold, someone needs to wrap and post the item - I could do this too if you would prefer.
