  1. Southwark website says they can investigate barking dogs. If the noise is happening ‘now’ they say to call them on 020 7525 5777. I suggest you share the address with those locally affected, and then all call the number when you hear the dog barking. If there are enough complaints, the rapid noise team will attend (they can only really properly assess if the threshold is met if: they attend, hear recordings of the sound, or receive a high number of complaints). you can also report online each time. the rapid noise team can attend, and also warn the occupant as it is a ‘nuisance ‘ (barking for an hour each time on repeated occasions). you can also record the sound and send the links to the noise team, and also the neighbour (if you have their contact details). Allowing prolonged barking is a nuisance, and saying that it is ‘caused by anxiety’, doesn’t mean that it is not also causing a noise nuisance. Hopefully this will stop the dog being left on its own for so long.
  2. Zen - I’ve used them for 5 years in ED and it’s been great. Human customer service. Fibre.
  3. A recommendation for Niko the plumber here. I first met him whilst he was doing work for my landlord - he came quickly to fix a leaking in the roof. He was very kind & efficient: fitting the job in amongst other things and explaining what had happened / what needed to be done. He always kind enough to offer advice and recommendations for other trades people on other home issues when asked too eg boilers. Super reliable.
  4. We went to Kokum yesterday for lunch and it was fantastic. On a really hot and sunny day, the outside tables were in the shade, with a breeze which helped! It was £15 each for BBQ and beer. Great BBQ smell & a free taster dish. The main menu options we chose came to less than £30. the service was lovely. we happened to be walking by, so thought worth mentioning here. (no connections to the business!)
  5. Thanks for the update. Do you know which team could walk the Surrey Canal Path (the cycle and walking route from Peckham Library) in the mornings 8-9am to try to deter the drug use and drug selling under the 2 x bridges each day?
  6. I haven’t had a response re the December closure refund, or the current refunds. It shouldn’t take them this long to pause the standing orders and arrange the refunds.
  7. Charter school East Dulwich & North
  8. I really recommend Lotte - my kids who were 8 and 6 absolutely loved their time with her over a long summer. Lotte is reliable, caring, thoughtful, adventurous and fun.

  13. Another recommendation for this company. They painted the lounge and long hallways with woodwork. Great attention to detail and easy to communicate with. Good quality.

Dates as follows:  Build: Tues 14th May - Thurs 23rd May  Live event days: Fri 24th May - Sun 26th May  Break: Mon 27th May - Sat 1st June”
  18. There is an excellent child psychologist who works out of Oru.
  19. Hi - is the pool open again now? thanks.
  20. I was on hold to Surgery as ‘number 2 in the queue’ with no change for 20mins. Not unheard of, but unusual.
  21. There is a lovely child psychologist who works out of Oru. I hope your child feels better soon.
  22. Oh no - 6 nights of music in a row! That is too much. We live close to the park and don’t mind a weekend each year for music. But 6 nights of noise is disproportionate! There will be no peace and still work & school to get up for in the mornings. It is so moody and incessant. long festivals should be arranged where they are not surrounded by busy urban streets, affecting thousands of people who are not involved in the festival at all. I have emailed Southwark. I really hope they stick to it being on one weekend.
  23. In case there are others who do not know - you cannot park in the parking spaces outside M&S on Lordship lane between 7-10am each weekday. The parking is suspended during those hours & you can get a penalty for being in the bus lane! The ticket person sits in the cafe opposite to photograph the offending.
  24. Alcohol isn’t allowed at JAGS
  25. I am sure it won’t come as a surprise to know that I reported to the police & chased them regularly. But: - they didn’t attempt to get the CCTV until it was too late - said they had no idea who the man could be and - this would be ‘no crimed’. clearly there is no police plan to deal with him (and that is the only option or MH dentin if there is a detainable condition, to protect others from harm). it’s worrying given the number of incidents, particularly involving children.
