GALA Music Festival 2024 Consultation
TreacleRabbit replied to tomster's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Oh no - 6 nights of music in a row! That is too much. We live close to the park and don’t mind a weekend each year for music. But 6 nights of noise is disproportionate! There will be no peace and still work & school to get up for in the mornings. It is so moody and incessant. long festivals should be arranged where they are not surrounded by busy urban streets, affecting thousands of people who are not involved in the festival at all. I have emailed Southwark. I really hope they stick to it being on one weekend. -
In case there are others who do not know - you cannot park in the parking spaces outside M&S on Lordship lane between 7-10am each weekday. The parking is suspended during those hours & you can get a penalty for being in the bus lane! The ticket person sits in the cafe opposite to photograph the offending.

Alcohol isn’t allowed at JAGS

I am sure it won’t come as a surprise to know that I reported to the police & chased them regularly. But: - they didn’t attempt to get the CCTV until it was too late - said they had no idea who the man could be and - this would be ‘no crimed’. clearly there is no police plan to deal with him (and that is the only option or MH dentin if there is a detainable condition, to protect others from harm). it’s worrying given the number of incidents, particularly involving children.

Looking for a lovely nanny in East Dulwich!

Hello Matteo Are you still looking for a morning school run job? Thanks Gemma
-
Hello, I am looking for a Nanny for my two children in central East Dulwich to start in March 2023. This is a great job for someone who lives locally and has other things they want to do during the day time (hobbies, studying, caring, setting up a business etc), and prefers to increase the hours for some school holiday weeks The job includes walking the children to school in the morning (7.30am) and collecting them from School 3.15pm - 6.30pm in term time (30 weeks per year). This could be 4 or 5 days per week, as you prefer. School is 10-12mins away. There are also 30 full days during the school holidays (8am-6pm) on dates to be agreed with you (eg 6 weeks across the whole school year). The pay is higher than average per hour (to reflect the switch between term time and school holidays), and is also pro-rata’d, so your salary remains the same each month. Our current nanny is brilliant and has been with us years and is now moving into a non-childcare role. I am happy to chat / FaceTime / meet for an informal discussion. Our nanny is happy to chat to you too - she can also tell you what the role & the children/family are like! I’m happy to flex the hours to suit your needs too. Bonus and yearly salary review included. Send me a private message if you have any questions or would like to chat. Thanks G

I’ve attached the site map here, and schedule to use the site from 16 May to 10 June. That seems like a really long time to fence off that side of the park, including blank days when it’s not used, just waiting for the next weekend. I don’t mind when it’s one weekend of music, but this use seems extreme.

Electricity fluctuating since NYE

UK Power Net say there ‘are engineers on site at the moment’ and they would like to hear from everyone experiencing this so that they can establish how wide the problem is. Fingers crossed they can solve it! -

It’s the same on Ferris Road - very frequently flickering yesterday. I will call or report too. Thank you! -
I think I encountered this man on Lordship Lane today at the crossing outside Marks & Spencer’s near Northcross Road. A man on a bicycle ride through the crossing on red, with a long silver coloured pole horizontal across his bike. He rode through the pedestrians as they were crossing, and the pole almost caught my small child in the face. The children were very scared, and when I told him what has happened he cycled back and started ranting that he was being picked on. He was threatening and scary. I will report him to 101 as soon as the website is back up and running. Posting to warn others. He is dangerous.

Whateley Road zebra crossing works
TreacleRabbit replied to bonaome's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
As it goes past a school, LBS could apply the Village approach and stop all car traffic during school rush hours, especially as it is a side street and cars can use many other routes including LL and CPR. But that doesn?t apply in ED of course ?. -

Yes - we need a crossing for all the primary school age kids who have to cross that road twice a day! -
Lloyds Pharmacy North Cross Road
TreacleRabbit replied to blueblazes's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
They?ve had locum pharmacists in due to lack of staff, which has caused delays for medication we were collecting. We did get it eventually after lot of calling and queuing. -

booking swimming slots for kids
TreacleRabbit replied to bettyorange's topic in The Family Room Discussion
There is only 1 hour non-Lane swimming on Sundays. If there are others who don?t feel that is enough, you can contact Everyone Active here and let them know; https://www.everyoneactive.com/enquiries/ -
booking swimming slots for kids
TreacleRabbit replied to bettyorange's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I contacted Everyone Active to ask for more family slots (to take kids swimming at the weekend). They just said they can?t fit everyone in, and suggested other areas instead! I wonder if they make less money during Family slots - but they can?t go at all during all the school hours. -
I?m so sorry this happened to you. It sounds like a sexual assault. Often our brains try to find other more innocent explanations (like perhaps it was an accident, even if logically that makes no sense) and they exploit that feeling of uncertainty (and a feeling to yourself of disbelief). It sadly isn?t likely to have been his first time. Thank you for warning others. I hope you feel ok. The police have recently increased patrols around Peckham Rye due to a Man exposing himself to children. If you can possibly remember his clothing / description the police can check the CCTV to try to spot him.

I saw a woman leaving black bin bags near a chair on Darrell road earlier today. I didn?t realise what she had done until I wakes up to the stuff abs saw she had just left it all there. She drove off.

Parents in playground
TreacleRabbit replied to cornishpasty999's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
This thread started with a complaint about people (adults and kids) who were in playgrounds, which doesn?t break any rules. You don?t live their life. You don?t know their stress or their home. Follow the rules, add some extra for yourself if you like, but don?t berate others. -
I got a Pickwick Road driving northbound warning today. I didn?t notice any new signs saying this wasn?t allowed. I will need to look closer!

Well done for getting this donation scheme running again for King?s NHS!
