booking swimming slots for kids
TreacleRabbit replied to bettyorange's topic in The Family Room Discussion
There is only 1 hour non-Lane swimming on Sundays. If there are others who don?t feel that is enough, you can contact Everyone Active here and let them know; https://www.everyoneactive.com/enquiries/ -
booking swimming slots for kids
TreacleRabbit replied to bettyorange's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I contacted Everyone Active to ask for more family slots (to take kids swimming at the weekend). They just said they can?t fit everyone in, and suggested other areas instead! I wonder if they make less money during Family slots - but they can?t go at all during all the school hours. -
I?m so sorry this happened to you. It sounds like a sexual assault. Often our brains try to find other more innocent explanations (like perhaps it was an accident, even if logically that makes no sense) and they exploit that feeling of uncertainty (and a feeling to yourself of disbelief). It sadly isn?t likely to have been his first time. Thank you for warning others. I hope you feel ok. The police have recently increased patrols around Peckham Rye due to a Man exposing himself to children. If you can possibly remember his clothing / description the police can check the CCTV to try to spot him.

I saw a woman leaving black bin bags near a chair on Darrell road earlier today. I didn?t realise what she had done until I wakes up to the stuff abs saw she had just left it all there. She drove off.

Parents in playground
TreacleRabbit replied to cornishpasty999's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
This thread started with a complaint about people (adults and kids) who were in playgrounds, which doesn?t break any rules. You don?t live their life. You don?t know their stress or their home. Follow the rules, add some extra for yourself if you like, but don?t berate others. -
I got a Pickwick Road driving northbound warning today. I didn?t notice any new signs saying this wasn?t allowed. I will need to look closer!

Well done for getting this donation scheme running again for King?s NHS!

Car 'break-ins' - near Goose Green Playground
TreacleRabbit replied to missyelliott's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I had this a few months ago, my car is key less entry so I assumed they had bounced the signal from the key inside the house. Strange they opened the glove box, had strewn things over the seat. Nothing of worth there or on display, nothing broken. -

A man claiming to be ?21, from Hull and I?m not going to lie to you I?m just out of prison? is knocking on the doors selling something in our street in ED. When I politely said ?no thank you? he said ?that?s very arrogant of you?. I heard him knock on my neighbours door. When my male neighbour answered and said the same thing, the man replied ?thanks mate no problem?. The man was reporting back what happened at each door, into his mobile phone. Very strange and unwelcome. The man was short, with short brown hair.

Callows arrived in 5 mins and opened the door. Fantastic. Reasonable fee.

In dulwich Park this morning there was one awful man in a red t-shirt who ran up behind me and my kids, right next to us, 30cm away. We weren?t on the sandy track, just the usual road/pathway. He clearly just couldn?t be bothered to wait or run on the grass, or avoid us. He was very sweaty and spluttering. Very Selfish. About 55-60.

Neighbours ignoring isolation rules
TreacleRabbit replied to Ronnijade's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Noise wise, you?d have to call the noise team and record them. We used white noise and ear plugs too - bad neighbours are awful. -
Neighbours ignoring isolation rules
TreacleRabbit replied to Ronnijade's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It is very hard staying in so much. And your neighbours sound annoying in general terms, and to society if they are not obeying social distancing. But, then having other people into their flat is very unlikely to give you covid, just wash your hands or sanitise them whenever you have used the hallway. The fact that they are bad citizens, try to ignore it. It?s like all the other bad citizens in the world. You can?t change them. I?m sorry they are causing you stress. -
There is another thread on this - agree they are too bright! How do we complain?

Christmas Trees at EDT
TreacleRabbit replied to eastdulwichflowers's topic in Request a Tradesperson
One of the problems with all this is that the experience of buying outside the EDT is usually pretty miserable. We usually do buy there because it?s close, without needing a car. It?s also very expensive. It?s no fun. This year we did buy at Tree Amigo - it was good fun. The kids were entertained with a tree maze, a hut to hide in and the sellers were friendly, patient, and couldn?t do any more to help, showing lots of trees and spending time discussing it. It?s the poor service all the other years, which means that a new competitor has an edge. They are still U.K. growers and sellers. -
Looking for a good family lawyer
TreacleRabbit replied to alexrojas's topic in Request a Tradesperson
She?s not local but she has very good reviews and better prices. Google Jolene Miller at Blazer Mills -
I contacted the Parks section on the council about the sand pit, because the sand level is too low for the equipment eg the wooden structure (it?s very hard for little kids to climb up onto the bottom rung, hard to use the metal diggers etc). They say that more sand is due this month. Just posting for info.
