    London for independence!
  2. I don't think they do. Even the world cup or something like that, I can't see it being shown at several of the pubs in ED these days. I'm not suggesting it should be a sports bar, but definitwely showing the football at the weekends would bring in business.
  3. Wasn't it The New Hamlet Inn in the 90s? I think it has bags of potential if done right. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I think it has got to show sports. They'd get loads of footfall on Saturdays after Dulwich Hamlet matches. I know not everyone wants sport, but to be honest there are WAY more places that don't show it than do these days, so it's not like they have nowhere to go (which may have been the case 10 years ago).

Majority 10 times bigger than the current one.
  9. That's jolly good of you. I shall keep my ears peeled for scouse accents at DHFC... And yeah, I'm intrigued about our Loz.

Sure my parents would remember them, their house belonged to my mum's mum before her, and various cousins have been born there or in Dulwich Hospital.

Liverpool need at least one top drawer CB and at least one proven striker. We need to sell Sterling to City for as close to ?50m as we can get, then use that money wisely. Unfortunately Rogers will be using it, so we'll probably end up with the shite we spent the Suarez money on.

She had an incredible voice, if you found her annoying you should have blamed the parents, not the little girl. She was a very annoying chat show host / failed pop star, I'll give you that. After the election she was called a champagne socialist when she went to a rally in Cardiff (I think), and she responded with a blog which I was really impressed with. And I don't like the "champagne socialist" term. It implys that if you have money you should lose all social conscience.

Sooo, I watched "Gascoigne" last night. Think this sums it up well http://www.theguardian.com/film/2015/jun/04/gascoigne-review-heartening-but-cursory-documentary-of-troubled-footballer I enjoyed it, and it was great to marvel at what he could do, but a true documentary should have talked about the darker times. It basically stopped at Euro 96. There was nothing about being dropped by Hoddle (fool) in '98, or any of the bad stuff. But it was worth a watch.

  15. No I was brought up on Whateley Road. But my nan had the Lord Hill (it closed 6 years before I was born, by which time she'd moved to Devon). So you could have been served by my nan or possibly even my old man.
  16. Great stuff Johnnyboy. Don't suppose by any chance you have anything on The Lord Hill pub, Hill Street, Peckham do you? Was my nan's pub for several years until it was demolished in 1972. By all accounts full of villans and dodgy fellas who looked out for her and called her duchess.

Completely unfair to compare her to him.
  18. Better to march for specific things, like Lewisham Hospital a couple of years back. That was real people power, it was great, and the people won. For now...
  19. And I say again, the government know that already, and don't care. They have a plan and from the second they shook off the Lib Dems, they've gone for it and will continue to go for it.
  20. Pointless. The government know how unpopular austerity is. They don't care.
  21. Doubtful, but wondering whether anyone on here remembers The Lord Hill pub in Peckham. Was on Hill Street, but demolished in 1972.

I mean, yes she should have been attended to quite quickly, but not sure why she should have had "total priority" on the strength of being pregnant and 21. Especially when we have no idea what other calls the service had received that afternoon.
  23. Think that's probably it. My initial thought was why the hell didn't they just take her, but they probably felt it would be too great a risk until it became clear the ambulance wasn't coming. Agree with BR, the fact is simply that there are not enough resources.
  24. If they just cut away the branches, it doesn't sound like it was anything to do with the roots and foundations of a building.
  25. Ah yes, my bad.
