Haha, I admit I could probably do with one of these at times.

I thought Adventure Bar was one of a small chain. Unless they've been bought out. The Walkabouts I know are all central London, but The Vale is somewhere that could appeal to them, open kitchen, room for big screens for sport, and space for dancing. I just can't imagine them attracting their usual target market in ED, and not sure people would travel to ED to use it. But like I say, after a Hamlet match I'd defo go in there to watch the late kick off on a Saturday. Awww, had some great times with Aussie mates in Walkabouts back when I was free of wife & kids and had a social life.

I VERY much doubt Walkabout would be interested in a place like Dulwich. Could be wrong of course, but would be genuinely surprised. Although I can imagine heading there after a Dulwich Hamlet match.

Speaking of which, this is a nice (free) PC Game, and the commentary is funny.

Just downloaded on ios. And while I was at it, downloaded this one, which is apparently based on Limbo, and the classic oddworld games (remember Abe and his farting?). Have also downloaded Slender origins. Some of the Slenderman games are really atmospheric.

Thanks for the Limbo recommendation, downloaded demo and it is brilliant. Will defo get full game.

She's made a complete joke of herself. Surely has no chance.

What's happening to old ED police station?

I just don't agree that the character of ED would change beyond measure if they built a tower block. Not that I think they ever will. How are we defining "tower" block? How many stories? To me a Tower block is like 20 stories high. -

The silly season has truly > begun. Reading on BBC Gossip column that United are bidding for Kane. Can't see that happening. Also reading that City are considering a bid of around ?40m for Sterling. If there is any truth in that I hope Liverpool bite their hand off.

Just fed up with the forum. Still lurks though *waves at Strafer*

I think I'm going to support Wales for the next few years, don't expect them to win anything, but should be a fun ride. Whereas England will be more of the same. Oh and I had to laugh this morning hen a West Ham supporting mate of mine updated his facebook status to simply say "Frank Lampard OBEse". No idea if he came up with it, but it made me laugh.

No it's not, but Jeremy is spot on that mental health or not, people have a right to say they're intimidated by intimidating behaviour. There was a big chap who punched a few people by the CPT a few years back. He thought I was the devil because I was wearing a black hat. Clearly the guy was not well, and everyone realised that, but it still would have hurt (a lot) if he'd caught you with a punch.

I can't actually see a tower block appearing in Dulwich any time soon, but frankly it wouldn't bother me at all, we need housing, so let them build it. It makes me laugh the way some people seem to think that Dulwich is somehow special. It's full of uninspiring victorian terraces, and if you look above the shop fronts Lordship Lane is ugly as hell. There are great things about the area, but it's buildings have never been one of them (with some exceptions, which are likely to be demolished). I am not saying the proposed new school looks wonderful, but it's what modern schools look like. And I definitely prefer the image on the right to the horrible blue one on the left. -
No, but hurrah!

DaveR's post about letting people make their own choices with a personal budget is very much on line with where social care has been trying to go since about 2008/09.

It looks like new schools look. What we're you expecting, gothic columns and gargoyles? "Lordship Lane deserves better" Why? And what E Dulwich skyline? Surely taller buildings actually create a skyline. I doubt New York's was famous when it was a small settlement with a few houses. -
So how does the castle (never dead, not overly expensive compared to local competition) survive then? And likewise Fox's on Kirkdale (same owners). Both of these feel old skool without feeling like you're likely to get glassed IMO. Guess it's just a case of everywhere else changing so they got all the drinkers. I'm also told (but have no.intention of checking) that the Legion on Barry Road is doing a roaring trade, at least on Sundays.

My first post was around October or November 2006. At the very beginning you could post without registering, and there was no Lounge. Perhaps unsurprisingly my first post was about pub crawls. El Pibe was here slightly before me. StraferJack came a few months later (both with different names). I was Keef but don't remember my row with Lou.

Not bad at all, hours and hours of entertainment for that money.

Yeah yeah, you should have heard what Jah said to me about it. ;-)

What did you end up paying?
