Okay far too sweeping a statement, of course not everything good ends up being picked up and has mainstream sucess, but the gist of what I'm saying remains the same. Some people won't listen to stuff simply because it's mainstream. They ignore the fact that sometimes stuff is popular and mainstream because it's really good. But it's all about being cool and listening to the "right" stuff.

Apparently they shun the mainstream, so will wear things that aren't fashionable, thus making them instantly fashionable because as you say "being anti-fashion is so fashionable". It's like music when people won't listen to something because it's too mainstream, so they listen to "underground stuff" which if it's any good, gets popular and mainstream, at which point it shall be cast aside as a "sell out".

A quick google search of "hipster" shows they've been around a lot longer than I'd realised. I am realising just how little I know about the world I live in. I can't find a good definition of what a Hipster is though (but I don't think you have to be rich and slumming it as a prerequisite).

By "proper supporter" I just meant someone that has supported their club for a long time, would never change their club, knows who they're playing each week and so on. I didn't mean they have to be a regular match goer.

I'm not anti fashion, I just haven't got time, money, or interest to follow it.

I've never followed a fashion trend, I'll be cool when regular boot cut jeans and t-shirts are the in thing. That's basically all I wear. If I'm "dressing up" it'll be the same jeans with one of my 2 short sleeved shirts.

Kashmir has a mean guitar riff, but yeah I'm similar to Jeremy on this.

Just to clarify, I've absolutely nothing against most of the guys that av it large, but there are a number that do my nut in (who I think fit the hipster bill) and I make no apology.

I've come over wrong here. what's happening is wicked. But there are people like the guy last week who was asking us where they were in the league and how many games they had left, who by the end of it was screaming like he was a life long fan. I know I'm being a grumpy bastard, but it annoyed me.
