  1. Exactly KK, how can an area take the p!ss? People have driven the prices up, nothing else. I do agree with Oily that these people are absolutely crackers though.

  4. That's because ED is especially mental.
  5. Dunno if I'd just missed this, but it seems Nathan Cleverly has moved up to Cruiser and is making his return on November 30th. He claims he was considering moving up a weight before his loss.

So are penalties won by diving fair game then? If the ref didn't see it it's okay to cheat, it's only cheating if you get caught. A ref SHOULD be able to ref a match in the knowledge that players will play it fair.

You don't need to commit a foul for some players to go down and say that you did.

This sounds like a recipe for disaster http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24819018
  9. If anyone fancies a cheapish pint in a "proppa" pub, give Fox's on Kirkdale a go. It's actually owned by the same lot as The Castle, it's ?3.30 for a pint of Kronenberg, they have a pool table and show the footy. It doesn't feel rough even though some of the locals might be a bit rough around the edges. I usually pop in on a Sunday for the football, and have been made to feel really welcome. And they do Tavern Snacks Cheese & Onion, which makes them alright in my book.
  10. Maybe so unlurked, but if they do similar dishes, it's still going to be good, even if not quite as good as eating in.

Also James, you said "I enjoy different kinds of food, not eating the same kind of stuff over and over again." A steak, a lamb curry, a kofte kebab, roast chicken, bacon sandwich. These all taste pretty different to each other. Meat eaters don't just say "bring me meat" and get a lump of some unidentifiable meat every meal time.
  12. Thing Sydenham Road needs is a couple of nice bars/pubs. They recently gave the Railway Tavern a lick of paint and changed the name to something like The Pavilion, but it's still the same old boozer from what I can tell. There is The Dolphin (sister pub to The Dartmouth Arms) further down, and the Golden Lion, both of which are okay, but there is a big stretch with nowhere attractive to stop for a beer.
  13. Dulwich Hamlet sometimes show fights I think. I'm potentially up for it, although much as I like Groves, I can't see it being a long contest.

When I go to a > restaurant I enjoy different kinds of food, not > eating the same kind of stuff over and over again. Of course meat eaters don't NEED to eat meat. My wife is veggie, so I often don't eat meat, but I do like to eat meat, and if I'm treating myself to a meal out, I'm not going to pick a bloody veggie option, because that, to me, is not much of a treat. The meat on my plate is the highlight of any meal. 1 or their 5 mains is veggie. That's 20%. That seems proportianate to the number of people that are going to want meat free dishes. They want to do good business and get people through the door, and whilst there are a fair few veggies around, most people going through their doors are going to want meat on their plate.

At least the penalty was missed so the cheating came to nothing. But yeah, he's one of the worst divers I've seen for a long while. Except for Bale.
  16. 10 years ago The Foresters was still open, as was the weird little arcade. Hizar was still good old Yilmaz (always preferred them to stab n wine). It was before Black Cherry / Liquorish opened, so less bars. But it was fine.

As in the people who will (or not) keep them in business with their custom.

That's because from what I'm told, it was shit.
  19. My bad, was confusing your posts with others. I still don't think they're a particularly good use if resources though. And whilst buses are rarely running to timetable, it is rare in my experience (pretty vast considering my job involves travel training kids to use public transport) that you'll be waiting mire than 10 minutes.
  20. Sorry edcam, shitty day and clearly a humour bypass switch engaged. Plus your post could easily have been a serious post on this forum. My bad.

Someone must have missed the humour.
  22. Penguin you were inconvenienced one time and waited 40 minutes. Unfortunate, but worth investing in countdowns for every stop for? I think not.
  23. What SJ said. Most elderly people KNOW when the bus is due, and get the bus stop accordingly. And lets be honest, you never have to wait THAT long, even if you miss a bus. I totally agree with lane lover that the money it would cost to puyt these at every stop, not to mention maintaining them, could be better spent on many other things.
  24. You could stop being an arse, maybe. I asked if someone could ask a question and post the answer on here. If no one can do that I'll call them myself, but it's not like I was asking some outrageous favour.
  25. Blue Mountain are becoming quite the little chain now aren't they.
