If they get rid of cash, it will inconvenience people for a bit, and some people will be caught out. Then people will get used to it and plan appropriately. They shouldn't not do something because a few people can't remember to take their Oyster cards with them to work.

With regards bot having credit on your Oyster, I've always thought they shoukd give you a couoke if quid credit. like the emergency allowance on the leccy meter. I think they should do that whether they do away with cash or not.

Also, kids can't buy "a peice, 2 wings, and chips" with an oyster card. They may be tempted to use their ?2 emergency bus money for just that. (I'm basing this on the crowds of kids iutside the chicken shops in Newham every day). Not that I have anything against dirty chicken, I love it!

I never said losing, I meant that cash is more likely to be stolen. Also you say it would have been pointless to buy another Oyster, but I suspect it would have worked out cheaper than paying cash for a couple of weeks. Actually perhaps not because it's school holidays, but if she'd been travelling to and from school every day...

I've been trying to remember the name of a book I read late 90s (think I may have bought it along with "Talk of the town". It qas an autobiographical novel abiut a boy in the 70s who was very ill. He liked football and prog rock. That's all I remember, but I know it was depressing.

Er, cheers. I was embarrassed to support Liverpool during the whole Suarez racism stuff. I supported him to an extent (still don't think he is in the John Terry league, but he was a fool), but the way the club very quickly developed this siege mentality was alarming, and very very ill advised. Annasfield, who doesn't really post anymore, is Liverpool through and through, and is a friend. I don't always agree with her on stuff, but when I see her and we chat, she listens to my opinions too. I do see some of her fellow supporter's comments on her FB page and think WTF, but there you go. In my opinion, LFC need to do some serious work on the public relations after the last couple of seasons. This whole "the world is against us" thing is boring. But I still support the club and most of the players, and I'm quite excited about the current squad. I'm not a big fan of Rogers though, because he is so stubborn and doesn't do Plan B. This should probably be on the other thread.
