Fair point, but not as bad as cupcakes IMO. People decorate cupcakes with little shiny balls which are meant to be edible, but are no easier to eat than a marble.

Apparently Bale wants to talk to Real Madrid. BBC reporting that Spurs won't sell even for ?85m. If that is true, then I think Spurs are mental! ?85m?!?!?!? they could get 2 or 3 real class players for that money. Weirdly I had a dream the other night that Spurs had sold Bale to Arsenal. Forresters wasn't always bad, but granted, the last few years were terrible. The Uplands before 2001 was nice old skool with pool and darts, but it was a terrible use if space, it seemed really pokey.

When I was in primary school we did a project on WW2. I remember going to a house on CP Road (either next door to, or a coupke of doors away from the old police building on corner of CP and uplands) they still had an Anderson Shelter in the back garden. My friends had their first child at King's a couple of months ago, and are full of praise for it.

Last time I heard rumors like this it was talk of a big hotel. A friend of mine (from the area) just said on FB that when she was a teenager (90s) they got as far as planting gardens and a new maze, and it was to be a big cinema / bowling / nightclub. Residents objected and that was that.

I would absolutely love it if they did this to the original specs. I lo e the feel of history around that part of the park, and just looking at the steps and foundations gives you an idea of how immense it must have been. Especially back then.

I work in Newham (home of East and West Ham, Stratford, Plaistow among others) and whilst a lot of it is still grim as ever, there are signs that it is slowly pulling itself up. I have even considered looking at East Ham. The area around Central Park is quite quiet and nice.

Exactly! Saffron, I don't disagree with your general point about wishing this woman good luck and good health. I was chatting with my wife about how awful it would be if something went wrong, magnified by the masses of people outside thinking they own a piece of your personal life. I just think all the Facebook comments are cringe worthy. Also, if congratulations from strangers meant something to you, that's great. I suspect there are an equal number of women who just want to be left the hell alone though.
