  1. RD, I don't think it's so much about level of contact but rather timing. If a player has the ball, some contact us allowed, so long as you're playing the ball. If you miss the ball altogether then any contact with a player is illegal and a foul.
  2. "Contact is contact, Torres was fouled." Agree, but agree with Strafer that he should have been off already anyway.
  3. Have to agree RE Torres. This claim of racial language used by Clattenburg is interesting. The man is miced up but nothing is recorded, so the 2 linesmen and the 4th official are obviously going to be questioned. No doubt if they say they heard nothing then they'll be accused of covering up. We're getting to the point where players, officials and coaches will all have to wear mics and records made, just in case. Actually, if that were possible it might not be a bad idea.
  4. " Everyone knows a dive when they see it." I dunno about this. I have seen players go down and be accused of diving after replays show only minimal contact. What they never seem to mention is the pace of the man who goes down whilst running at full tilt. I think sometimes nominal contact is enough to throw off a player at full pace.

    X factor

I love Bring me to life, but to be fair to her it was more the unrecognisable version rather than her voice that I had an issue with.

    X factor

That version of "Bring me to life" was awful. Without Lucy the whole show was a bit flat.

    Ladies or women?

My wife kept her last name, and uses Ms. Our kids have both our names (mine first, but only because it flows better).
  10. She may not know, as she wouldn't get a notification that you'd removed her. However, if she tried to tag herself again, it would tell her she wasn't allowed as she'd been removed. just tag her in it, and then she'll think you're lovely and that you wanted her to be properly included. I put an old black & white photo of my uncle and (now deceased) aunt on their wedding day on there and tagged their kids & grandkids, some of whom live in America. It's just to draw their attention to it. People used to have to request that they be tagged in your photo, but these days can just go ahead and add themselves.
  11. So forget tactics, just know your place and let the best teams run all over you? Moron.
  12. "or Lula for short." My wife calls our eldest Lula (which is nothing like her name), I think it's cute. Is Alouette pronounced A-LOO-ET? Nice name, don't think I've heard it before.

    Breaking Bad

My wife never watched this with me, so I'll get to watch again when she finally gets round to it. Currently enjoying 4th season of Damages, a show which I've enjoyed from the start.

    Ladies or women?

"For me, it's the intelligent folk thinking it's not worth bothering about that's irritating. I'm surprised at both Otta and Pibe thinking such." I believe in picking your battles, and this one just doesn't seem worth fighting when there is far worse embedded sexism in society. But I promise never to call you a lady (I'm pretty sure I never would have anyway).
  15. Fox, lots of people use twitter as you describe, but lots don't. Either way, I think getting snobby about one of them is a bit rich if you use the other. I am a regular FB user. I ignore every invite to play games, or join stupid tabloidesque causes, but I enjoy lots of other stuff.
  16. FB has it's faults, no doubt. How anyone who loves twitter or any other social networking can slate FB makes me laugh though. You won't convince me that one is any better than another.

    Ladies or women?

Isn't "men" simply a shortened version, slang even of "gentlemen"? That would suggest that "gentlemen" came first, which it didn't.
  19. That is sad news, he was cool.

All fair enough, but the fact is that a lot of women / ladies on here have said they couldn't care less. Yes if you said to me you didn't like me calling you something, I'd stop it, but I wouldn't necessarily assume that all of womankind had the same feelings as you about it.

    Ladies or women?

"Lady" is a loaded term - it implies gentility, > > refinement, delicacy" To be fair, the vast majority of people who use the word probably don't intend to convey any of that stuff, so is it fair to load their words with the things that you find offensive. Most people will use lady because it is part of the vocabulary they have grown up with.

  23. The peppa pumpkin is excellent! Thankfully my eldest's peppa addiction seems to be losing it's grip.
  24. I find that Huggies are the only wipes that don't leave your hands stinking when you clean up a poo. That wins it in my book.
  25. Nightmare on Elm Street is another one that got better and better. NOES 6 was sooo scary. And don't get me started on Friday 13th 8 "Jason takes Manhattan", BEST FILM EVER!
