  1. Alice, do you know whether they're in to skateboarding and stuff? Plenty of cool skateparks around. To be honest, at 17 and 19 they'll probably be wanting to go and get pissed somewhere.
  2. enjoy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Top shop *shudders* Years ago when I was at uni I had a girlfriend from Liverpool. She came to London for the first time in the Christmas break. We went to Oxford Street and she spent 3 hours, that's THREE FECKIN HOURS in Top Shop! I wanted to die.
  3. If buying drugs is the yardstick then every pub in Dulwich has been rough at some stage.

Couple of times a > year? That's amitious, we currently manage one gig a year if we're lucky. But on those one or two nights I'd love to have the option of the Overground. But due to noise I know it is very unlikely to ever happen and that's fair enough (although I'll be keeping an eye on tube lines that go overground as they get out of Central London to see whether they ever go 24 hours in those areas).

Although to be fair, only 2 of those are in Sydenham ;-)
  6. The Lord Palmerston was never rough in my opinion. I didn't particularly like it, but it wasn't what I'd call rough. Only pubs I remember having a bit of a bad rep back in the 90s were The Castle and The Mag.

Although the twisted side of me loves the idea of the guy who gets so wound up by flight noise suddently finding the overground running along the back of his garden all night ;-)
  8. I would love to see a "games room" section where the likes of the word / song games could go. I enjoy the Who am I? game, but that could go there too.
  9. I can't even get excited about teenagers anymore, for some reason I'm just off the cricket.

I dropped BT at the wrong time. Went to EE 3 months ago and they've been shit.
  11. That's exactly what it's about. I just can't sympathise I'm afraid.
  12. Sorry that should've said Stig.
  13. The Stag?
  14. And another
  15. Hopefully they're sorting it so you can join the group. There have been a couple of replies, see attached screenshot.
  16. Seriously? I thought you'd get my clues easily, the eye reference, the weird "aquarium".
  17. YES!!! I was starting to regret choosing him so thought I'd give it to you. Knew you'd be watching ;-) He was a great character, and I felt sad his second chance went to shit.
  18. His nemesis was an earlier clue on this thread, guessed correctly by AqM.
  19. That's a bloody brilliant idea.
  20. That was my first thought, but you can only invite people you're friends with, so doesn't work.
  21. Okay, I've posted an edited version of your post above in the group, and asked if they can change the settings so that it will be visable when you search for it. I'll let you know if I get a response.
  22. Hmm, I've had a look and it's a "sectret group" so you have to be added by an existing member. I'll ask them if this can be changed, at least for a short period. Bear with me.
  23. MrB wasn't out on the sauce, he was out for a meal, not in a pub. Basically it's all relative. As Jeremy's post highlights, all babies / kids are different. Some (very bloody lucky) parents get babies that will sleep through anything for long periods. Others don't. You have to make plans accordingly. Obviously if you have a baby that screams all the time, a non selfish person would probably think it best not to take that baby to a place where people wanted to enjoy a meal or a few beers in peace.
  24. Penge feels like it's changing at a very fast pace. I don't believe anywhere in London will get left behind in the way that you're worries South Norwood will. It might just take a bit longer to catch up, but it's not going to be some ghetto surrounded by nice areas.
