  1. for illustrative purposes only Mr B the remainder of my post is more to the point.
  2. Hmmmmm I recall sitting in many a French cafe with a tumbler of wine And Spain
  3. nice use of French there soya Can you think of any reason why it might have been removed by admin? Did it include personal details about someone else? Did it libel a business? Did it contain endless profanity? I'm not saying it did any of these but if you can review what you posted and try and think from Admin's perspective you might have an idea.
  4. I hate those scooter things with a passion - but is TSN team the right avenue? Annoying as they are (and for me that's 10/10 on a scale) if they aren't especially dangerous I can't see how TSN can do anything And because they are so mobile (and not a flat having a party at 4am next door) I don't think any noise prevention teams could do much either
  5. It was the "I'm being kind" bit I think Negligible is probably too strong a word but in comparative terms it's close enough Dc makes a good point about abortion still being illegal but that's just a matter of time as the fear of hell that was prevalent in ireland has gone. The church has it's hand in too many parts of the state but it's a shadow of what it was 30 years ago. And Ireland is better for it I wasn't comparing directly to saudi, but again the comparison holds. Devoutness tends to slip away when external influence is allowed. That applies to Countries like china too where it's not so much about religion

Haha. "no more or less" than any other user??? It's that rigorous attention to reality that gives homeopaths a good name Monica, I challenge you to find ONE other poster who has recommended a tradesman more than 70 times.
  7. and patronising Want to expand on what your problem with the post is?
  8. Religious adherence in Ireland went from near-absolute to negligible in a generation. You accord it too much respect in Saudi, mick
  9. eedee - moved about 2 years ago as I couldn't afford a house there
  10. About 10 years ago the road was so badly kept, pot holes the size of craters caused a lot more noise than the speed bumps do these days! As for barking dogs and parties, they exist in many, many roads but I never had issues with either. I did hear barking dogs from time to time, but I do that everywhere - it wasn't unusual or an issue.
  11. a bit odd there was an almost exact same thread a few weeks back not suggesting anything untoward, just struck me as odd
  12. Interesting first contribution from BilBob there I've had 8 fantastic years at the high/southern end of Friern Rd - 200 and upwards address. Very quiet as far as traffic goes (esp in comparison to parallel Barry Rd), good local shops, Plough is immeassurably better as a pub than it was a few years back, the woods, dulwich park and Peckham Rye park all walkable in a few minutes . The library. Plus views into the city
  13. I too wondered what was wrong with being 45 or a computer programmer
  14. Remember the bit of the driving test when the instructor asked you to park with 2 wheels on the road? Good times Why is it considerate to give space to other cars but removed it from pedestrians? Why do you need to be fined to make you aware of this?
  15. Google, have another read. Edt has nowt to do with this thread
  16. Almunia on short loan to West Ham....
  17. SG We have just been through this with ours The stairs are no use so I just used the door frames of the rooms on the relevant floors. The way the house is laid out means this isn't a problem for us but if you need to have access to several rooms on one floor at all times it might be trickier The extendable gates couldn't possibly be any tighter and are very secure.
  18. that will be a "no" - not suitable for kids
  19. "I'm not Tony Blair" = comparing yourself to Tony Blair? How does that work?
  20. gosh, betterat, you seem to be able to dish it but not take it you posted this about me on another thread "My word, too of you have got a complete sense of humour failure, strafer jack, do you take anti humour tablets by any chance? Watch some comedy on the Television it may you break a smile!"
  21. Than ES story looks like it was written word-for-word by James Or an associated press-officer
  22. Otta My first thought to that is that anyone using "brainstorming" is usually a knob anyway... Like "blue sky thinking". Sheesus My second thought is.. Is it even true ? Doesn't sound true but I'm sure some jobsworth might adopt it
  23. But not Microsft Bing [legal Ed]
  24. but we can agree that NOT flogging women for driving a car doesn't constiture dramatic reform surely? If we can tell Georgia USA off for executing someone last week, we can surely tell SA off for this
