I lived directly next to railway tracks for 5 years I definitely noticed the noise initially, and with kids on the way, was worried about that aspect as well But the noise melted into the background for me, and the kids never noticed On some summer's days, in the garden, a passing train could be a pain But overall I was fine with it and it had no hand in my decision to move But as the plane thread shows, your mileage may vary

i searched the standard site for snatch squads and this was first result "http://www.standard.co.uk/news/met-chiefs-fears-for-boroughs-as-beat-officers-are-drafted-in-to-student-riots-6546915.html/" "He said police were considering banning protest marches but had no intention of doing so at present. "Snatch squads" could seize troublemakers and challenge masked demonstrators. But Sir Paul effectively ruled out the use of water cannon saying he did not want to see a paramilitary style of policing." but that was here in UK so it probably wasn't what you meant I did find links on google to the Caracas story from 4 days ago but none of them worked - any chance you could furnish?

i'm not trying to defend the jogger at all I just don't think the post from OP was that much better and yeah not quite "to their face" - but he was clearly visible to them so wasn't anonymous as such again, not defending him - just think the post was off
-
way to claim moral high ground - deride someone for being "brave ho ho" and then post a relatively detailed take down of their personal appearance anonymously on a public forum he may be a dick but he did what he did to your face - you however.... heat of the moment stuff maybe but it's still here half a day later

Tiny Little Things That Cause You Irrational Rage
StraferJack replied to PinkyB's topic in The Lounge
people jabbering away on mobile phones in the quiet carriage At Salisbury on Saturday 2 different tables started up and let them drone on for ages before I finally had enough and went over to each one and pointed out the signs the usual frown + "someone has just told me off for ,,, blah blah" - but one stopped and the other left the carriage to continue his chat (for 50 minutes!) of course, it being 2014 I knew they would be straight on twitter to bitch about me - sure enough a quicj search for "phone train" found me the moans - so it was sweet seeing their faces when they saw my replies. Both had good grace to fess up a smile and grudging "fair enough" reponse But yeah anyone who calls me a grumpy old got for telling people off on the carriage can do one as well -

"And blokes who sit with their legs wide apart" I know people regularly cite this as "a thing", but as someone who spends 20 hours a week on trains I almost never ever see it. It seems to have become a real thing just through repetition -
Not all artists agree with edcam's post And not all of those artists are "big" either

If you have a more extreme definition of "isolated".... Yknow... Use that instead To be fair, if I ever make mistake of watching top gear, all I can hear is "drone drone drone " too. Hmmmmm
-
Come on people of east dulwich!!! None of you can hear anything!!! Right? Back this guy up so be doesn't like so... Isolated

Quids. Spot on Loz. Playing hard and fast with generalisms and not looking too clever Buddug. I have clashed long and hard with her in here. Leading to a truce drink and all round acceptance. But totally in the wrong here Louisa. Louisa

this retrospective video (of Soules) is great - it speaks to the uniqueness and the perceived difficulty and is eloquent and ace But it looks soooo good too but if you do nothing else with it, skip to 11:11 and hear how the design of one of the enemies is typically different and more layered If I manage to get anyone to pick it up and play it, I know they will initially go "huh" - but I beg you stick with it. You will have all other games ruined for you

not insanely difficult - just insanely unforgiving. But therefore the most rewarding in eurogamer's game of generation feature, Tom Bramwell wrote of his experience "believe it or not, I was having tremendous fun. Dark Souls is often portrayed as some sort of biblical cilice that we must all wear to atone for our love of modern games that play themselves, but when I finally made time to play it at the beginning of last year that's not what I found at all. Critical consensus Oli Welsh reviewed Dark Souls when it first came out, awarding it 9/10. "If Demon's Souls was purgatory, Dark Souls is a descent into hell," he wrote. "From Software's follow-up to its celebrated dark fantasy ordeal is even harder, even more remorseless and bleak." By the time the PC version was released, Rich Stanton had seen it all, but he was delighted to keep playing, as he reported in our Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition review, also recipient of a 9/10 score. "There are some few entertainment experiences that rise above mere amusement, and the world of Lordran is one of them: an endless feast to be chewed over and digested, each morsel swallowed with lip-smacking relish before returning eagerly for the next." Instead I discovered a game that rewards patience, concentration and experimentation, and punishes haste, carelessness and narrow-minded play. A hostile and cruel game, as Oli put it in our original review, but one that cannot be called heartless or soulless. Perhaps the reason I haven't gone back isn't that I'm intimidated"

cables ? in 20 years? you'll be buying an adapter to beam it to your frontal lobe
-
ah now there's the rub otta - I don't have time for gaming I have a collection of 15 pristine new games (games I WANT to play) piled up on the hard drive and no idea if and when I'll get a chance to play them

ha - partly true jeremy. It used to be much worse and again, if you have PS+ it does a lot of that updating automatically overnight 360 used to be much better at that sort of thing - but recent UI updates mean I barely switch the darn thing on now

Trying to buy a house in this area is near impossible

God forbid -
my typing didn't help

I would always have said said 360 in the pass but a PS Plus account changes everything in PS3 favour to go online on either console costs 40-60 quid a year. If you do that on PS3, you get several free games every month. Big releases as well, not some 4 year old relic (so think Bioshock Infinity, latest Tomb Raider etc instead of Halo 3) actually on PS3 I don't think you need to pay anything to go online - but if you do join PS+ its still cheaper than xbox plus all those games

it's almost as if some sort of regulation were needed imagine the outcry tho' -
nonsense Dopamine - the 12 year old you would be thrilled at what you can do now Whilst others are watching location, location, you get to be at bleeding edge of future entertainment be proud!

At this moment in time, neither PS4 or XBOX ONE are compelling proposals No you can't play GTAV on it (reason being it's build completely differently inside - would be like trying to run a spectrum game on a C64) Even media playback on the new consoles isn't as good as PS3/Xbox 360 so for first time in ever, I'm not buying a new generation console. Just yet Fact is they are powerful beasts which will eventually be home to some cracking stuff - but by then they will be cheaper anyway

man that parody is scarily good
