  1. I have been fined here too!!!! Can't believe this!!! It is not that obvious at all. Bloody council. I was following a bus and didn't realise there was a sign. Would never have gone in if I knew!!
  2. Hehehe cannot wait for the summer - think it's going to be nice on LL then. Ah it's no biggy I will just sit upstairs. Will mention it to the driver too next time. Most of them smoke outside so don't see why they can't all do this!
  3. Wow why does everyone always get really shirty on here? It's only a friendly discussion forum. The whole point is for you to express an opinion right. I was just saying that it is pretty annoying and yes it does effect my asthma in the morning I'm not going to lie. But hey I'll sit upstairs from now on - good advice. And yes as a "moaner" I can say I did drink in pubs before the smoking ban. I'm all for the ban btw as many of my smoker/non - smoker friends are. But as was suggested a bus is a work environment too so it should not really smell of smoke. Maybe Dulwich is making me old before my time. I'm only 25!
  4. It does when you have asthma and it makes the first ten minutes of your morning into a coughing fit. And yes I do open the window but then that makes people cold.
  5. Yes but I think it is totally unacceptable so we should report it. Does anyone know who we would need to contact? TFL?
  6. Has anyone else noticed that when you get on the 63 bus in the morning by the FHT where it starts loads of the buses stink of smoke as the drivers must have a cheeky fag in the bus itself while they are on their breaks. Correct me if I am wrong but isn't a bus a "public" place and therefore the smoking ban should be enforced. I hate my early morning, stale smoke bus ride at the moment.
  7. There are far more anti social things happening in Southwark that the odd fag butt being dropped. I bet they only approached you as you looked like a normal tax paying middle class citizen. They would never have approached you if you were in a group and looked a bit dodgy! This seems very extreme if you ask me. ?75 is the same as a parking fine right? You should at least have had a warning first. Love to see them try to do the same thing along LL on a Sat night!
  8. Wow why is it so hostile on here!? Let people voice their opinions! Lets face it - the main problem with this shop is the fact it is so damn cramped. Knock a few aisles down and make it a bit more spacious and I am sure people would be more inclined to nip in there for their essentials.
  9. Yes big up the Turkish shop!!! Lovely fruit and veg and dirt cheap! Plus the staff are sooooo sweet. AND they stock more than 1 type of everything!!!
  10. Yes I live on Marmora Road and have also noticed that there is an increased amount of dog mess everywhere - it really is disgusting. I often stumble home a bit worse for wear and have the misfortune of getting it all over my lovely wooden floor!!! The rather lame BAG IT graffiti seems to be ignored.
  11. The co-op is cramped and over priced and the fruit and veg look like they have seen better days. But overall this line of shops has potential to smarten up a bit...
  12. Sean! I am this girl! It was about 7pm on a Friday night a few weeks ago. I live on Marmora Road which is not a long walk from the bus stop but it can be a bit dark. I just hid in the newsagents until my friend came to meet me. I think the fact I had a phone, ipod, massive bag and am small and blonde probably attracted them....
  13. I always think the Turkish supermarket on Forest Hill Road has loads of lovely food at bargain prices.
  14. He also gave us some too - they smell really nice!!!
  15. Anyone got any idea who the postman is for Marmora Road?
  16. The trains are packed round here everytime I have got one and they are very old which is unusual. I thought the standard would be higher round here. I moved to East Dulwich to get away from having to get the tube to work. Hated it. I now get the 63 every morning - I love this bus I always get a seat as I get on where it starts!
  17. Went for a drink in here recently - not that great. Warm drink. Loud 30th birthday going on which was a bit cringy to watch - It was kinda in the style of a hen party. What do others think. I think it has potential the garden is pretty nice.
  18. Wow so it has been an issue for some time then. That is really terrible how no-one listened last time. Well I would definitely be up for supporting a roundabout/filter scheme so if anyone knows of the next meeting then I will be there! Don't think I can cope with a near miss like that again!
  19. I guess a letter could be written to Southwark council or maybe the GLA?
  20. Yeah that sounds better. Or maybe just go down Barry Road if coming from LL. Thanks!
  21. Having recently got my car back I thought it would be fine to have in the area. No parking restrictions, fairly wide roads etc.. All is fine but could someone please advise me how you are supposed to turn right onto Peckam Rye when coming down East Dulwich Road by Tesco Express without having a near accident everytime. If I wait at the lights when still green for a space everyone beeps you, if you go out into the precarious hash rink and try and turn you never can because of traffic from the other way and you then get beeped too! Help I am not a rubbish driver but does anyone agree this should be a filter light or a no right turn!!! argh!
  22. Big up the view of the City from the top of I think Overhill/Underhill Road. Can never remember which one it is. You don't get that North of the river unless you are rich enough to live in Primrose Hill!
