  1. We don't use Deliveroo very often but we had a terrible experience last night with the wrong food being delivered and having to reorder and then waiting for an hour for the original order to arrive (COLD). I wouldn't normally post but I wondered if anyone else had had this problem. This is actually the third time something has gone wrong with an order (previously the wrong food arriveed - like last night, and another our delivery was sent to the wrong address - 2 hours to sort out by which time it was 11pm, and like I said we hardly ever use this service, so it appears to occur every time we use it. I am so over Deliveroo and Pizza Express - NEVER AGAIN!
  2. I witnessed a fight involving three people outside The Palmerston so I called the police, who arrived within 10 mins. It wasn't a stabbing. The victim was punched in the face a few times and went to hospital. Hope he's okay now.

Selfish beyond belief to pull over knowing > full well they're blocking the route for other > cars, plus it's a busy bus route. I drove my husband to hospital on Saturday - while he was having a heart attack - and we had to wait to pass by the queue of traffic. It was stressful but I didn't think people were selfish. You don't know the reasons why people need that petrol and I "selfishly" queued there on Tuesday morning so I had fuel in the car to bring my husband back home from hospital.
  4. Does anyone know of the nearest petrol station which has petrol - this morning? My tank is on empty and I've been out on Sunday and Monday looking for petrol, to no avail and can't risk driving around in the hope of finding some. My husband is in hospital and will be coming out at the end of the week and I want to bring him home in the car. Thanks
  5. I'm currently on hold to customer complaints at Royal Mail.
  6. We haven;'t had any mail for 10 days - still waiting for birthday cards which were posted early December. We're on Friern Rd and we had a parcel delivered. The postman said there was a huge backlog and post has been piling up. It's very frustrating - my son wanted Casual Christmas Postal work and would be down there like a shot, but no vacancies!!!!
  7. Has anyone else had a bad service? We have been told by Pizza Express that our order has already been delivered and there's nothing they can do. I am 99 in a queue with Deliveroo (after they had failed to respond to Live Chat) and we've been waiting over an hour for our delivery. Daughter's birthday - we don't normally order. After a very angry rant by my husband the manager at Pizza Express is re-orderimg but this was after I was fobbed off twice... The manager didn't re-order. The original order has now arrived - an hour late - and COLD! Will not be ordering from Pizza Express Dulwich EVER again.
  8. Does anyone know the name of the lovely man who runs this shop on Lordship Lane or has a contact mobile number for him? I always buy my fireworks from him every year and would like to buy some tomorrow? Thanks
  9. I've just received two anniversary cards which were sent over three weeks and postmarked 2/9/20 from Epsom and Ewell. My mother was very upset that they hadn't arrived and it's really frustrating that both cards were first class. It's just not worth paying out for first class stamps anymore. Fifth rate service -appalling.
  10. He brought a smile to several of us on Village Way at 8am this morning.
  11. So sorry for your loss. Absolutely devastating. Sending love to you all xxx
  12. And well done to children of Friern Road, Peckham Rye end. Very inspiring and supportive!
  13. Middle of Friern Road near the church went crazy tonight.
  14. I agree. When I was out walking at 7.15 am yesterday in Peckham Rye, a jogger ran up behind me and coughed within a metre of my back. I jumped out of the way. He didn't cover his mouth and showed total disrespect for me. Today I went out earlier but avoided the park and kept to the roads so that I could step into the middle of the road. Lots of joggers just not bothering to step off paths for others. Very selfish and this kind of attitude will soon shut down exercising outside.
  15. Paris and it's even hotter - arrghh!!
  16. I needed a plumber this morning and saw lots of recommendations for Gerry McCormick 07872303925 so I decided to contact him. As it was early (7.30am) I texted him and he arrived at my door 20 mins later, smiling. We both recognised each other as he was a parent from the school I work at! He said he would come back at midday to fix our toilet and he did and finished the job within half an hour. He was incredibly professional, charming and efficient and I highly recommend him - and as others have said - you will not be disappointed!

  18. Can anyone recommend a piano removal company or perosn who could move an upright piano two roads away within East Dulwich?
  19. Thanks Wonderwoman for the links re: classes - we will look into these. I have now reported this to the school and they will further investigate too. Thanks all for your responses.
  20. Hi all. We are very proud of how she responded. I did report this to the police: they are taking it seriously and they are aware there is CCTV footage in the shop. I haven't informed my daughter's school.
  21. Thank you for your replies. I've reported this to the police and they have taken it very seriously and will pass on the information to their local intelligence teams.
  22. Maybe I am overreacting but I just wanted to pass this information on as I'm not sure who else to contact. This afternoon, about 1.30pm, my daughter was in the newsagents (LNI News, 323 Underhill Rd, SE22 9EA)(between Barry Road and Crystal Palace Road) when a man came in. He bought something from the freezer area and then left the shop. When my daughter left the shop he was waiting in a white Mercedes car outside and pulled the window down to ask my daughter how old she was. She told him she was 15 and then walked past him to cross the road and walked up to the pedestrian crossing on Barry Road. He came up to the crossroads and when he saw my daughter turn left he indicated left but when he noticed that she had crossed the road to continue walking up Underhill Road (towards Upland Road) he parked on Underhill Road and asked her if she had snapchat. She told him that "I'm too young for you" and walked on. He was trying to talk to her but she ignored him and he drove off. She described him as a man in his twenties, with light brown skin, asian, black beard and trendy man-bun (not Sikh). Please let your teenage daughter know about this and be vigilant.
