It's nearly time for the next indie tots Nimble disco for 0-5s and their parents and carers. These are discos focussing on proper music, with Nimble Arts crafts, bubbles, disco lights and all the trimmings, held at the Nines (just behind the Bussey building in Peckham). The venue is a licensed bar serving fruit shoots, coffee and beer! The 15th November is our girl groups special, so come ready to dance to some of the greatest, upbeat tunes! Music will include the likes of The Supremes, The Shangri-Las, The Ronettes, Martha & the Vandellas, The Bangles, The Go-Gos, Banarama, Sleater Kinney, The Belle Stars... and much more, from resident indie tots DJs Owen and David. Tickets are ?8 for one adult, ?14 for two and up to two little people go free with each adult, and the disco runs 11am - 12.30. Nimble Arts are VERY excited to launch a new drama class for 2-5 year olds and their parents and carers, led by our brilliant workshop leader Holly! Every week, we'll delve into a new storybook adventure in this participatory and active drama class, with sessions running on the 5th, 12th and 19th November at the Ivy House (40 Stuart Road, Nunhead) Holly is a trained EY teacher, actor and drama specialist, and these brand new sessions promise to be full of magic, imagination and adventure! It's ?6 per session, or you can use a stamp from your Nimble Tots flexicard. After a week off for half term, Nimble Tales are back from this Monday onwards! Every week we have a new story, accompanied by cello tunes, songs, bubbles, puppets and props, and are suitable for 0-5s and their parents and carers. After a busy half term, I've added in a fair few extra sessions, and will be capping numbers a little lower so that we don't get too noisy! This week's Nimble tale, from the 4th October, is one of mermaids, storms, seagulls and magical journeys, with a bit of a sea shanty thrown in for good measure. It's a last whisper of sunshine and sea, before we start with Autumnal tales of hibernation and crunching leaves next week! As ever, we'll have lots of cello tunes, ukulele songs, shakers, scarves and bubbles at our sessions for 0-5s and their parents and carers. Join us in Peckham for another Indie Tots disco that parents with proper tunes, lights, bubbles and crafts - a disco that grown-ups can enjoy just as much as the little people! For little people aged 0-5 and their parents and carers - slightly older siblings are welcome too. October is going to be a 1980s special - including lots of hits but with the Nimble indie vibe, and we're have some special themed craft activities (that we've noticed the parents get just as involved with as the kids!). Now our discos are a regular part of the Nimble calendar, we've got great lights, decorations and kit to make it a great daytime party. The details.... We've still spaces on all days for the half term holiday club, but they're going quickly, particularly on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday! With one month to go, we'd recommend getting bookings in soon to avoid disappointment, as October is normally one of the busier Nimble clubs. As we balance the groups by age, we tend to sell out of places for younger children first. PLUS! Due to the very popular demand for our sold out pirate day last summer, we're adding an additional extra Wednesday this half term with a pirate themed adventure at Elm Wood School in West Norwood (just a stone's through from Dulwich). This will be our first time at this school, and is a taster for a sister club running from next year. Join us on Wednesday 28th October to help Pirate Captain Pearl find her treasure, with a series of creative activities including drama, film-making and arts and crafts! This week, in honour of the 'somewhat grumpy' Nimble Tot, I'll be telling an on Nimble Tots favourite, the story of Penelope the Princess, a grumpy wee madam who thinks all she needs do is stamp her feet and scream and she gets everything she wants... A story involving elephants (and a bit of Saint-Saens), chocolate cake and princes and peas, plus, of course, cello tunes, songs, scarves, shakers and new this week, maybe even some glittery pompoms! Sessions this week are below - we were pretty busy last week at some sessions, so do book in advance if you want to guarantee your space, but we'll always do our best to squeeze drop ins in! Classes are all mixed classes suitable for 0-5s, apart from 11am on Wednesdays which is just for littler ones.
