Gather together your family, grab a cuppa tea and come and be transported away into a world of magic, mystery, adventure and more at the Ivy House, every Wednesday over the summer holidays from the 29th July onwards! Each week we'll have a different set of tales from professional storyteller and Nimble co-director, Becky Dixon, with possibly a few storytelling friends! These sessions are aimed at 4-8 year olds, and are more story-led than our tots sessions in the mornings, but older and younger children are also very welcome. We're at the wonderful Ivy House, 40 Stuart Road, Nunhead. This week join magical storyteller and songstress Amie, who'll be covering Nimble Tales sessions this week and telling stories, singing songs and blowing bubbles for the lovely little people of SE15 and beyond (and of course their parents and carers!). I'm away in Norway, learning lots about trolls and playing some cello music in the rain, but will be back for the last week of term next week, before the summer holiday Ivy House programme kicks in! Join Nimble Tots for another disco for parents and toddlers - this time we're feeling all summery, and so going for a proper sixties summery vibe (and sixties inspired clothes very welcome, although by no means compulsory!). These are discos for parents and little people, with a chance for us oldsters too to dance to some great tunes during daytime hours, with plenty of bubbles, inflatables, lights and crafts available too. 11am - 12.30am at the Nines (just behind the Bussey Building). Nimble Tots Crafternoon Tea workshops for adults with tiny tots are back this summer! These are relaxed and sociable arts and crafts workshops for adults, in a baby safe environment, where you can learn new skills, make something beautiful and drink bucketloads of tea and biscuits, held every Wednesday over the summer holidays, from the 29th July onwards at the Ivy House (Stuart Road, Nunhead). Suitable for parents/carers with pre-walking babies (expectant parents very welcome too!) Each Wednesday is a different craft, and the price includes all materials, tea and biscuits, plus wine and more glamorous snacks are also available from the bar. We'll have mats, toys and a safe area for babies, or they're welcome to snooze in a sling or a buggy! Update on the Nimble Arts Summer plans! We still have spaces available for all days at our Goose Green Holiday Club from the 22nd July - 14th August, although they're filling up fast - particularly the mid-week days, and the week of the 10th August is well over half full on most days, so get your booking in soon to avoid disappointment... We're nearly finished planning everything, so we'll have more detailed information about all the days, including our raft of special creative guests, will be online in the next few days. EARLY BIRD BOOKING has been extended until the 30th July, so enter code 'earlybird' if you book before then and save ?10 on your whole booking. As you may have seen, we had originally been planning on running courses from the 17th August to the end of the holidays, but sadly we've been unable to find the perfect venue that's safe and suitable - our normal host, Heber, is having building work this summer, and other schools and community centres are having deep cleans those weeks. This does mean we'll be available for birthday parties and bespoke workshops during this final end of the summer!
