Well Jesus is a popular name in Spain and Manchester and he apparently also plays for PSG.....so I'm sure who should be offended? http://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/verratti-zlatan-claimed-he-was-jesus-inspire-psg
  2. You're too young Louisa.

  4. Imagine Otta became a very popular name to call children in East Dulwich.Several generations on and the next Special One is born and he is named Otta. Otta was a baby first before going on to give sermons in Goose Green once he had become enlightened. At this stage there were many people called Otta. Some may have been crooks or bakers or even bankers. However there was only one enlightened one and what was important was not his name but what he said. So to answer your question some Mohammed's might have been named after Uncle Mo who made it big running a bar in America and not necessarily a Profit.....or even a Loss.

  6. In so far as I've been able to read it, this woman provides a lot of interesting views and links.

I would say that everyone has the option of walking around and never being offended. It's where your headspace is. If you are happy then it's a case of sticks and stones. I've been offended on this thread and actually feel like calling someone a prick. However who am I hurting by getting angry. Just me. I need to deal with that so next time it's water off a ducks back. I want to never be offended regardless of the offence and it's my right not to be.

Call it a religion if you want but that is not why people do evil things. Lack of personal contentment, to choose a very wide ranging type of word, is why.

Who decides where the line is drawn? In my view it is the individual and not what someone else says I'm allowed to do or not do.

If you're implying I think they were martyrs then you must not have read more than the first three words of the post.
  13. These two martyrs ran away, stole for food and tried to escape. I expect they wanted to live otherwise they could have caused more havoc in Paris until they were shot. Whatever their motives there is no religion which could justify their actions or would want to. I say Jeez Christ regularly but don't consider myself a Christian. As for Je suis Charlie as a symbol of freedom to write what you want, I find that unfortunate. You don't have the right to insult anyone even with a pencil.

Where is there evidence that religion has a part to play in this, apart from those who would like you to think it has?
  15. Which is a shame for the club. Whoever is running the bar isn't doing a good job by the sound of it.
  16. Wrong thread PD unless you predicted all of that.
  17. I don't think the term 'Islamic terrorism' does anyone any favours. It terrorism but not in the name of Islam.
  18. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30765555 I quite like this Posh Chairmans approach.
  19. With the 4th and 5th rounds to come a new entrant could qualify with one exceptional week or two ok weeks. Just saying as it sounds like you are skipping them.

Did you not have seeding last year RD to determine the q/f draw? ( I haven't checked, honest)
  21. http://www.newyorker.com/culture/cultural-comment/unmournable-bodies This is worth a read.
  22. Made another attempt on the wall which didn't work so ended up getting one for the door. This works great and very easy to put up. Anyway if anyone wants the wall one for free send me a message.
  23. Nearly a month later and not a sign of anything sprouting..........
  24. So without doing a test to check if someone is under the limit before having sex, you may be accused of rape. Is that the gist of it? Bit of a romance killer.
