  1. Does anyone else remember the paddling pool broken glass vandalism? Finding shards of glass in sand might prove difficult.
  2. It turns out that the premises (both sides) has mixed A1/A4 permissions. An A4 wine bar can legitimately serve side dishes such a peanuts or crisps with the alcohol. The new occupiers are unlikely to use the premises as an A3 restaurant without permission. Mr Barber can seek enforcement action if they do. This is another example of where the Highway Code is not an accurate exposition of the law. The relevant law can be found at Regulations 98 and 107 of The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986.
  4. Iris is a chain moving in from SW and NW London. They have a range called Little Iris - in direct competition with Jo Jo Mamam Bebe.
  5. Yes, you're right. I've appended summary descriptions of the A Classes. I suspect some EDF contributors are not familiar with these. A1 Shops - Shops, retail warehouses, hairdressers, undertakers, travel and ticket agencies, post offices, pet shops, sandwich bars, showrooms, domestic hire shops, dry cleaners, funeral directors and internet cafes. A2 Financial and professional services - Financial services such as banks and building societies, professional services (other than health and medical services) and including estate and employment agencies. It does not include betting offices or pay day loan shops - these are now classed as ?sui generis? uses (see below). A3 Restaurants and caf?s - For the sale of food and drink for consumption on the premises - restaurants, snack bars and cafes. A4 Drinking establishments - Public houses, wine bars or other drinking establishments (but not night clubs) including drinking establishments with exapnded food provision. A5 Hot food takeaways - For the sale of hot food for consumption off the premises
  6. That change was from A1 to mixed A1/A4.
  7. It's also a legally protected frontage so A1 > A3 should not be possible.
  8. > Obviously Waitrose would have been preferable Funniest thing I've read today. Thanks.
  9. JerryDolkeFanClub Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > DHFC is owned by Meadow Property. There is another thread on the EDF about the property company seeking planning permission to build on Metropolitan Open Land. If I recall correctly someone checked with the Land Registry and found out that the astroturf field is a completely separate hereditament owned directly by Meadow Property. DHFC have no legal nexus with this land whatsoever. Can someone confirm this? Can Mr Barber use his inside track to examine the MOL Register?
  10. www.dulwichvillageforum.org.uk. Where's the forum part of the web-site?

  12. Is this still the current set of DHFC restrictions? That is, no outdoor music? But I still read this event as nothing to do with DHFC.
  13. The EDF narrative above says that it was not DHFC that rented a out the field. It has been said that it was the property company's agent that made the booking. If so, the event would not have been covered by the DHFC ongoing license but would have required a separate temporary entertainment license. Perhaps Mr Barber can locate a record of the TEN.

Need to take a step back from here. I can find no trace of a license for this event. On the face of it this was an illegal event. Can someone else locate a copy of the license? Mr Barber?
  15. Was there public liability insurance? Even if there was it would have been void without a valid TEN. The person who let the astroturf should have done a minimal amount of due diligence before confirming the booking. Who was it?
  16. I can't find the Temporary Events license: http://app.southwark.gov.uk/licensing/LicTENSGrantedResults.asp?TypeDesc=Temporary%20Event%20Notice&RegisterType=LTN&CaseNumber=&TradingName=&ApplicantName=&StreetName=%25&PostCode=SE22&Ward=&batch=5
  17. I'll ask the dumb question. How come throughout this anti-social fiasco nobody turned the electricity off?

Reading this thread it seems that there may have been illegal intimidation that prevented our Southwark employees from doing their statutory function. If so, this is a police matter.

  20. Are there toilet facilities? Does Environmental Health need to be told too?

  22. The agricultural drainage ditch that some people, including Ordnance Survey in recent years, now call the Peck was significantly modified to provide features for Peckham Rye Park. I'd like some help in finding out more about the Waterfalls to form part of a prospective 2019 publication. So far I've only located three photographs, all from postcards. Does anyone know the location of any photographs? I would particulary like to find a photograph looking downsteam. Does anyone have any information about the mechanics of controlling the waterflow? Is there any surviving evidence of the planting of non-native waterside plants?
