  1. Still puzzled how this will get planning permission. I presume the project has had advance consultations with Southwark Building Control and Southwark Planning. Has the planning application been submitted? John K
  2. I came across this document by accident: Sight Line Designing Better Streets for People with Low Vision by Ross Atkin It's available for download as a free pdf. It has a section on designing road junctions that are more helpful and safer for blind and partially sighted pedestrians. It seems to me that design features that might do this have been removed from the junction in favour of yet to be completed changes that will benefit cyclists. In all the paperwork did anyone see what appears to be the legally mandatory disability impact assessment? I'd like to read it. Is there an EDF member who knows about this subject? John K
  3. In several small towns in the USA I saw decals on shop windows offering on-going discounts to armed forces members and veterans. Do we have a scheme like this in East Dulwich? John K
  4. Freezing invoice payments pending resolution might prove more effective.
  5. "At one point I said to one councillor THREE TIMES that "You won't let me speak, you won't let me speak, you won't let me speak". To which he replied that he'd seen me speak on the East Dulwich Forum and that was enough." There is a recording? Can we request a mp3, just of this exchange? At a low bit rate a mp3 would be a smaller file size than some of the EDF advert pictures.
  6. Can anyone who has been engaged in this consultation explain the background to the cycle-way that the map shows along Melbourne Grove? John K
  7. The consultation document says: "The tenure on Lambeth County Court is leasehold until 2024."
  8. The proposed changes are to Adys Road, Crystal Palace Road, and Landells Road, John K
  9. This got past my radar: http://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/ieIssueDetails.aspx?IId=50005667&PlanId=0&Opt=3#AI35730 Was anyone involved in the consultation? John K Edited to change thread title
  10. Morrisons have pulled out of this market sector.

Check out the text from Anglo-Saxon charters on-line. John K
  14. The legal sanction process for unlawful expenditure is now in primary legislation as Section 28 of the Localism Bill 2011 effective from 4 July 2012. Very complicated stuff. This is all you really need: https://www.southwark.gov.uk/downloads/download/140/complaint_form-breach_of_the_member_code_of_conduct

  18. Melbourne Grove 6. Councillor Barber contacted the parking design team to request that a parking facility be introduced near the residential care homes of Nos. 34 and 36 Melbourne Grove. It was "near to", and not "outside", sorry.
  19. Perhaps Clarke's will buy a new fleet of short coaches: http://www.clarkescoaches.co.uk/schoolservices/schoolrun/
  20. This lunchtime a short wheeled base coach driver was trying to turn left from Townley Road into East Dulwich Grove. He couldn't do it because of the new build-out and the correctly placed car waiting at the red traffic light to continue to Lordship Lane. Where are the cycle lanes, or even safety features for cyclists? Is the name of the person who designed the junction known, and, if so does this person have any professional qualifications? John K
  21. Pullins Motors Ltd 25-27 East Dulwich Road
  22. The windscreen documents say clamped because of no road tax.
  23. How many clamped cars have you spotted this morning?
