I agree there can be a lot of unnecessary 'oneupmanship' in some threads, can't remember the fratata thread, but one that springs to mind was someone asking for ideas for a honeymoon destination, wasn't long before we got something like white water rafting down the Amazon. Ok. The bookies are the same, they now have City as clear favs, but in their defence they do react to the market, so people are obviously getting carried away and putting money on City...a long way to go yet

Most tend to be a good or bad review, and invite discussion on a local issue. However, if someone were to post that in x number of days they were going to have a meal at xyz, then that's more about them than the eaterie. Nothing wrong about being excited about a holiday, I am about mine, I just don't feel the need to tell everyone on here at every opportunity. Any reason why you decided to start such a negative thread about the forum?...

There's nothing wrong with people posting whilst they're on holiday, but Foxy, you do seem to be the only one who makes a point of letting everyone know you're on holiday or about to have one...
