What are these essentials? IMO the main essential to be successful in the modern game is an owner with deep pockets who's willing to put his hands in them, and/or a large commercial revenue stream, neither of which Newcastle have got. Also helps not to sell your best player and not replace him e.g. Cabaye...
  2. ???? Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Downing makes the England squad, well deserved Agreed, but if he plays will Roy use him in his new central role? Picking Carrick is a strange one, just come back from longish injury and when he's picked him for the squad in the past, he's hardly ever played him. Maybe Roy has serious doubts about Wilshere in the DM role...
  3. There are lots of internationals/friendlies coming up involving players of most clubs, they're all at risk of picking up an injury, part of football life...

  6. Weren't BFS's hands tied a bit with Sakho being out injured? I don't think many teams play two up front away from home anyway. Cole seems to have been used more as an impact sub this season, and Carroll isn't yet ready. I reckon part of his injury problems stem from being rushed back too soon in the past. BFS probably decided to play it tight with the option to throw Cole on for last 20mins. The West Ham of recent years wouldn't have come back like that, good job BFS is so adaptable :) ...

  8. If they said what the price was we could decide if it was reasonable or not...or is that being unreasonable?
  9. I've not seen any odds for that, but if there are I'm sure the bookies have worked it out so they don't lose out e.g. 2/1...

  11. You can get around 3/1 for a Utd win or a draw in the Mcr derby, tempting to do both...

  15. Was it ever in writing that it was a 'cash only' quote?...

Also worth noting that a company like Dupont aren't advertising it as being used in such a situation, potentially it could be a massive market for them, but they don't, which suggests it's just not needed...

  20. miga, I don't think your problem would warrant a separate thread which you sometimes see on the forum, but if you see this tradesman getting good reviews i don't see any harm in posting your experience or offering to PM. I'd certainly want to know if someone was unreliable...

Another trick is to not add VAT onto their quote in order to look more competitive. There's always a risk paying CIH as there's usually no paper work/receipt/guarantee, so you have little recourse if things go wrong...
  22. Schuco are a well known company, but if you can't be sure that all the components are Schuco, best to avoid. The thing that goes wrong with most bi fold doors is the hanging/opening/closing mechanism. Cheap doors will eventually 'drop' and make opening/closing the doors difficult. The best systems tend to be German, personally I would go for this company...http://www.i-d-systems.co.uk/

Some text appears on the vid just as he's about to put the DPM down... We used a thick black damp proof membrane as our vapour layer however regular vapour barrier is fine. A DPM isn't a vapour control layer at all as it's non breathable. The whole point of using a vapour control layer is that it is breathable, so he's actually contradicting himself. IMO the DPM used in this situation is more likely to make things sweat. Here's a link explaining vapour control layers...http://www.dupont.co.uk/products-and-services/construction-materials/tyvek-building-envelope/brands/airguard-vapour-control-layer.html
