  1. Were you happy with the race and finishing position Mick?...
  2. What do you stand to win Mick if Liverpool win the PL?...
  3. Can't beat a good bit of irony. Remember the cries of skullduggery when Mourinho let Mata go to Utd right after we played Chelsea, the consensus being that Mata could then go on to affect Chelsea's title rivals? Guess what team Borini's parent club is... :)

Don't dispute what you say Ots, but that's a separate issue and wasn't my point, see above...

Read what I wrote. Nothing to do with offers for players. All to do with timing. On Friday RM said that it was difficult to lose a player on deadline day. Tell that to Wigan...
  6. Nice bit of double standards from Roberto Martinez, in the build up to Sunday's game with Utd he's been moaning about Moyes raiding his old club for Fellaini on the last day...pray tell Roberto, where from and on what day did you sign James McCarthy?...
  7. The big boys made me do it... 4 out of 4. Like I said...obsessed :)

Agree. It's got Vincent Tan written all over it. Nothing against Cardiff and their fans, but the PL won't miss him...

  10. Have rules been broken? Nothing is ever done when team leaks appear in the press, usually from players that have been dropped. Seems to me that it's just a different source this time...
  11. Funny how City fans keep coming out of the woodwork...glory seeking chums?...oh the irony! :)

  13. titch juicy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Out of interest, why do City fans called United > 'rags'? Depends which team you support. Utd fans jokingly called themselves the Rags after Old Trafford was bombed during the war...Utd fans would say they were going to see the 'homeless rags'. City fans will tell you another story, that Utd's blue kit for the '68 European Cup Final was made out of 'rags' by the Stockport based shirt maker...Stockport being the heartland of City's support. The 'Red Arrogant Gits' acronym is a recent internet take on it. Rags has only become popular in recent times because of the bad press City fans got for previously using the term 'Munichs', so rags has become a more publicly acceptable alternative. Some Utd fans have taken to using the term 'oil rags' for City fans, but in general, Utd fans don't see it as a derogotory term, whereas Munichs was. I'm sure BR has got his own take on it... ;-)

  15. Ah, Mr Selective I see. I did read your post properly...all of it. You did say "variety of world class goals", but you also then went on to say... 30 yard screamers, sprints with ball from the half way line, beating 3 players in a tight space in the box, volleys, free kicks, headers, both feet, tap-ins. Not one-offs either. You look at his last 50 goals (this season and last) and it's pretty much extraordinary the range of different types of goals he's scored. I don't think there's another player in the world that has that variety to the same extent. Ronaldo clearly is another player who has scored a variety of goals you describe. Are you now saying that these different type of goals have to be world class to be considered? If so, perhaps you'd like to post a link to some world class tap-ins please :) The Ballon d'Or isn't a little irrelevant in this case. It's nothing to do with number of goals scored (I think you may be confusing it with the Golden Shoe/Boot?) Pre-2010 it was awarded to the European Player of the Year, voted by journos. Then in 2010 the Ballon d'Or superseded the old 'FIFA World Player of the Year' and is now awarded to the best player voted by international captains, coaches and journos. So before 2010 you had 2 awards, 'FIFA World Player of the Year', voted by coaches etc and the old Ballon d'Or (European Footballer of the Year). Ronaldo won both these awards in 2008...both for quality not quantity.

Careful tj, you're in danger of becoming the new UDT...only funnier :)
  17. Moving the goalposts now are we? :) You originally said no one scores the variety of goals that Bale scores, which was quickly disproved with a tiny selection. You're right, Ronaldo doesn't score 30 yard screamers, he scores 40 yard ones...
  18. Are you having a Giraffe? :) Here's a video of his first 12 goals this season, ticks most of your boxes, oh, and a couple of penalties thrown in too.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2HJTQCZzCA
  19. Roanaldo...
  20. Week 30 points... Week 30 table...
  21. You beat me to it tj! :) Before responding to BR's earlier post about Rooney's oft quoted ?300k/week salary, I first wanted to find and quote a Daily Telegraph article about it, but since that paper has now gone 'pay per view' I can't find/get access to it. From memory the article stated that the basic weekly wage the club pays Rooney is actually less now than his previous contract, which was believed to be around ?240k/week. The 'shortfall' is made up by external sponsorship/endorsement deals which the club set up and oversee using their established commercial dept. The club also controls what sponsorship deals are set up, most likely he will be used to front a deal the club are involved in, i.e. shirt sponsor. Apparently it's a new way for Utd to set up a contract, whereby the club pays less yet the player can potentially earn more...
