So you're > happy to support any English team you don't regard > as a rival. Big of you. Must be something in the water today. Football is built on and thrives on rivalries. For me a proper rivalry is historic and transcends league position, which is what you seem to be alluding to. Historically our main rivals are Liverpool, Leeds and Man City. These are the 'Usual Suspects' I was referring to. Even though I don't see Chelsea as a rival, in recent years they've become a deeply unlikeable club and set of fans per se, so currently I have no qualms about adding them to 'the list', and not supporting them in Europe either. I think a lot of non-Chelsea fans feel exactly the same...

I've just set up a Cheltenham league - EDF Betting Matters The pin is 8034739 To join in you just need to go to the website and choose a stable of 3 jockeys and 3 trainers, fill in your personal details and once accepted you can join a league. You can select up to 3 stables, I've only done one for now, will probably add others nearer the time... http://fantasyracing.telegraph.co.uk/cheltenham/?cachebuster=1362590277

Fair enough. I'm not bothered if people don't want to support Man Utd when we play in Europe, especially rival fans, I was just curious as to what your reasoning was, with you not being a traditional rival fan. Apart from the usual suspects I'm happy to 'support' any English team in Europe. I feel it's good for our game if our clubs do well in Europe...each to their own. > And I apologise for the mischief but in the grand > scheme of things it's only football innit. *Bill Shankly turns in his grave...* ETA: typo, got a sore head today...

Actually I didn't, hence the question. Some would say your mischieviousness undermines your professed neutrality...

Surely football is just a reflection/extension of the world/society we now live in. Is England even English in the 'true sense' anymore?..

To be fair MrB, people were posting their recipes in response to TT's request for a 2 week meal plan for a family, not overworked late night cooks like yourself. Maybe we need general foodie/recipe thread, which can encompass all aspects of cooking/food...
