  8. People aren't obliged to sing it, La Marseillaise has become more than a national anthem, it's become symbolic of 'we're all in it together' i.e. the borderless fight against IS. There's far more chance of some idiots disrespecting a minutes silence...
  9. Me neither, the PL has multi-national, multi-faith players, watched all around the world, it can only send out a positive message...
  10. So basically, all they have to do is watch a few re-runs of Only Fools and Horses...Mange tout Rodney, mange tout This has reminded me that I did some English 'tutoring' in Hong Kong whilst waiting to start a job. Somewhere in Hong Kong there is a 25yo bloke who's only grasp of English is to recite the Man Utd Double winning team of 1994 :)...
  11. Knives have been around yonks, pen knives, flick knives, Stanley, Swiss Army, but I'm struggling to remember an incident of them actually being used when I was at school in the 70's/80's. They were carried more as a badge of honour. Nowadays it does seem they are more readily used, but maybe that's down to these events being highlighted on social media/internet...
  12. All refreshed and raring to go I hope. Week 13 fixtures... 14. Blah Blah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > My vote switched when Harmen led the > party to an abstention on the Welfare Reform Bill. > The rot had set in long Before Corbyn's election. For me the rot set in when Ed M became leader instead of David M, it's gone from bad to worse ever since. Still, it's encouraging to hear the sound of running water as Corbyn voters try to wash their hands of the whole sorry affair...

Maybe he thought his career would stand a better chance with an Anglocised name? I reckon back then in Hollywood some people still judged a book by the name on it's cover. That's still the case now on sexuality when it comes to A-listers...

FFS, did it not occur to you that a vote for Corbyn was also a vote for his acolytes like Abbot and McDonnell too?...
  17. Would you pay for an architect to design it, or would you leave that to the builder too?...
  18. 'Good taste' is very subjective though...

  22. Jah Lush Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- Since Bale's gone we are no longer a selling club. That's because you had no one worth buying :) Joking aside, you're building a new stadium, and Arsenal were forced to sell players whilst they paid for the Emirates. But with the TV money you indeed might not have to sell, we saw this with Everton over Stones, time will tell...
  23. Difficult to come to any conclusions based on last night's game, the French were only there in body. But he definitely looks a great prospect. Great pre-match tributes to the Paris victims...
