  2. I have just had the blurb delivered to see if we want a 20 mph limit. I voted 'no' for the reasons that it would increase congestion and cause raised outputs of CO2
  3. I remember you Tillie as you are the greatest poet and limerick-ist on the forum, happy belated birthday young Tillie.
  4. I think you have to accept fame and fortune from any quarter. She is one of the fastest artists I have ever seen. There was an artist named (I think) Ralph Thompson who had a five minute in-fill between programmes (1950s) which we as kids watched glued to the screen, to see who would be the first to spot the picture. He would start off with a huge four inch brush and just dabbed seemingly randomly on to blank a canvas with the corner of his pasteing brush for four and threequarter minutes, and the last stroke made the picture complete and fall into place. It was better than most childrens progs today.

Quids wrote:- Vick works just as well without the flowers and conversation shite How does 'Vick' give you a 'good seeing to' quidsy I'm interested to know, is it something to do with the size of the container, or what you do with it? Flowers and conversation are immaterial, it is usually a matter of grunts, moans, and squeals of delight if you're 'doin it good'.
  7. Apparently he had a covered up face. If that is all the description the 'victim' could come up with, it sounds almost as if they were in cahoots and do not want the police to trace the robber.
  8. Homeopathy seems to be full of failed hippies striving for a career. It would be most unlikely of the NHS to participate in homeopathy when they haven't the funds to maintain their core services.

A good seeing to, it gets the phlegm off your chest.

  12. Pity about your deposit Ollie.

  14. I cannot see how repossession is the best thing for anyone except the bailiffs. When bankruptcy happens in the States they try and keep the company trading at all costs, to maintain continuity of service. Here we seem far too eager to leave people destitute and penniless surrounded by debt.
  15. I had the same missive dropped through my letter box yesterday too but I have no need to worry, as the people at Kings have lost my medical history according to the last consultant I was interviewed by when he showed me the single A4 sheet which was supposed to be my lifetime medical record. I do not know what I can do about it, when they are lost where do you start to search? Any other forumista out there who has had the same experience of your medical history going missing/lost?
  16. Jeremy wrote:- And as Magpie says, if you gave the money directly to the public, it would basically be a one-off injection into the economy, rather than a long term investment. I would never recommend giving any type of money injection as suggested, because inflation would go out of control, merely minimise the damage caused by temporary unemployment on thousands of families.
  17. The alternative if you haven't got big bucks for private tuition, is to move close to the Charter school as they have a very small catchment area.
  18. This is all very slightly interesting, but will it help you get a job? Well in that case, it's a load of time wasting...................ball aches. Back to the job searching declan, pronto.
  19. I wonder if freemasons fall under the conspirators umbrella?
  20. The blockage on rye lane was probably caused by the tail back from road-works halfway along the road to camberwell, where half the road was blocked off and traffic lights installed.
  21. mockney piers wrote:- I went to a comprehensive and it never did me any harm. How interesting, do you not feel there may be gaps in your education, or logic? More to the point about your comprehensive, to take a positive view, did it do you any good? Grammar schools did well because of their strict codes of conduct and the discipline of the staff and children. This could be brought to any school with the right quality of staff, and correct back-up (not necessarily caning though something with bite would help enormously) so they can remove control of the schools from the pupils.

  23. Ladymuck you are a married lady.......................sooooooo what are you doing on this thread, get back to that there diggin' the alotment, as it's all going to weeds.
  24. It would be less invasive on the defaulters to have a mortgage from the government rather than evict them from their properties. It is much more effective if the monies from government go direct to the (usually temporary) loan defaulters. How can it be good business sense to keep something afloat which has already sunk. Let the failed establishment go and bail out only the loans would make more sense, and then increase the time and number of loan repayments rather than evict. Repossession is the worst option of all in my opinion, and should only be used as a last resort if the defaulter refuses to repay the revised repayments.
